Cozy and comfy chalet in a quiet place 😊
10.0 / 10.0
Breakfast was great it always is when I make it, the view from the bedroom on our 1st morning was a doe with 2 fawns grazing in the wood it was amazing to watch.
The chalet is in a perfect situation for touring around and very quiet, the only gripe was the shower was too small I couldn't bend down and if you tuck the shower head off its mount the hose cept hitting the control and turning it off but apart from that a fantastic stay and the host is very friendly.
Just the shower as explained above

Location was very nice & remote too
There was an awful old greasy cooking smell that clung to you

Kilcoy Chalets were will located and only a short distance from town. We enjoyed the peaceful environment.

It is well suited for travelling between the local towns
The property is pretty run down, we were situated with a dead bush and overgrown pathway as our view

Lovely location near where I wanted to be. Sits beside a country lane off the main road. Set in a fenced garden area on the edge of farmland and near major roads for travelling out and about.
Modern cooking facilities with adequate crockery and utensils.
Fabulous hot shower with large emersion tank so plenty of hot water.
No paperwork relating to the lodge and facilities equipment or local area.
PAT testing on electrical equipment overdue since March 2025.
Antiquated meter system for electricity but it works.
Black mildew patches in the bathroom and bedroom from dampness.
No backup facilities in place or offered in the event of a power cut, we were without electricity due to Storm Amy for 48 hours of my stay. Fortunately I had friends staying locally who I went there to visit who had a cottage with log burner and camping gas cooker so stayed over with them. A couple in the chalet next to me said they were given a hot water bottle and an extra blanket.
Glass fronted ceiling to floor which offered no privacy unless the curtains were closed and lights turned on even during the day. The curtains were too long for the windows, had been glued up and due to damp were no longer staying turned up looking a mess.
Fire extinguisher was covered in cobwebs and dust.
While it had some good points it clearly needs some upgrading and attention in areas.
When I clicked to reserve it said "reserve with a promise to pay" and took the full amount from my bank immediately. That may have been booking.com rather than the owner.

These chalets are adorable! It was wonderful having a little house for ourselves for a few days during our vacation in Scotland. The Tesco nearby was a great one, which we took advantage of with the full kitchen in the chalet. The location was great, quite close to Inverness but outside the city and crowds. There are farms all around the chalet, which made for a pleasant evening sitting outside listening to the cows mooing while enjoying a dram :)
The bed wasn’t very comfortable

Andrew is a very nice host. We liked the fact that there was a washer and a dryer onsite. We also liked the fact that the chalets were detached, so no noise between neighbours. Kilcoy is very close to Inverness/amenities.
Nothing really. We had a really nice time there :)

A quiet place, very well equipped chalet, cosy with the nice fire place, very close to main tourist attractions. A pleasant place to live.
A free parking space is available.
Excellent advice for outings.
We had a fantastic stay.
All as perfect.

The owner Andrew met us when we arrived and showed us round the property very nice man

Location, cleanliness and abundance of hot water. Very comfortable furnishings.
TV didn't work properly-the signal was constantly interrupted, although the owner did mention the aerial had been dislodged in recent storms. The grouting and seal at the bottom of the shower needed a little attention-black mould. The seal on the bottom of the shower door came off when the door was shut.

Useful and quick responses before our stay. Great suggestions from host of things to do in the local area.
Kitchen was really clean and functional. Lovely to have some space and autonomy. Had everything we needed for a break from hotels, home cooking, peaceful, did laundry and relaxed.
The directions provided were good.
The bathroom is old. It could be tricky if you are larger than average.
We hoped to use it as a base for expeditions to craigorms and further afield. Our mistake...plenty closer to accommodation, dolphins, singletons brewery down road, rogies Falls to war h salmon jumping.

No breakfast. Location was fine, host friendly and helpfull. Good radio, television/dvd set, good wifi and piping hot water. Kitchen was fine.
The bathroom was disapointing. Lots of mold and not clean. Very small shower and no mixer tap in the sink.

Andrew was very responsive, kind and even waited for us when we were running a bit behind schedule. The little chalet was a great spot, comfy bed and had all the amenities. Super cool location near Inverness, the red castle and northern highlands.

Beautiful setting, extremley quiet and peaceful. I slept so well as there is no noise at all in the evenings. The chalet was clean and well equipped with a comfortable bed, an adequate kitchen area and an area to sit outside and enjoy the sunlight. I bpught along my dog who could play happily without worrying about traffic or danger. Andy was super helpful and thanks to him, we got to see Dolphins and had a lovely day at the beach.

I liked the location, situated just off a main road it made it easy for travel but it was quiet and peaceful. The Chalets were well stocked; there were lots of cooking utensils making it easy to do your own food. Chalet stayed warm well, no need to constantly have heating on like in some chalet/ cabins, this one retained heat pretty well so could stay comfortable temperature.
It was really dirty. Items were either really old and desperate for replacing, like the kettle had seen better days, you could tell from the element inside but it was dirty on the outside too like no key had even gave it a wipe over. Cob webs on windows and under the kitchen counter and inbetween the bed frame (this could have just been dust and fluff) Mold spores on curtains in the main room, and furniture in bedroom. Extractor fans filled with what looks like months/ years full of dust. My partner had trouble with size of the shower, it was okay for me but he’s really tall and broad and said it was a squeeze.

The location is fantastic, well worth the ten hour drive, plenty of things within driving distance to do, and plenty of local walks and activities
This can't be helped but the bed is a small double, I may be nit picking given the size of the chalets and their location. Over all a fantastic stay

Clean & tidy. Perfect for our long weekend. The kitchen area is great for cooking in.
Chalets can be a bit chilly at first but soon warm up. Take a few cosy fleecy blankets for snuggling on the sofa with a cuppa.
Kilcoy Chalets would be a great place for a few couples to have a gathering with your own accommodation.
The dog owners that were there were considerate of other guests & their dogs.
Having to go home.

Beautiful location, great for day trips. The chalet was clean and of high quality with good heating options to keep it nice and warm. Andrew was always available if we needed anything and we felt very comfortable and safe during our stay.

It was an absolute delight to stay at the Chalets. The facilities were spotless, and we wanted for nothing during our short stay.
It was so good we extended it by a further day.
Andrew, the owner, was in contact with us and greeted us on arrival and is around during the days if you need help or directions.
The length of stay, wish it could have been a week longer .

Lovely quiet country location and perfect for us to take our boys out for a walk (on lead) to enjoy the scenery.
Was central for travelling places.
Had everything we needed in the chalet too..cosy and comfy and perfect size. Shower was powerful..wish .mine at home was that strong lol.
Only tiny fault I could find was size of shower cubicle..not much room for turning around..but the power strength made up for it so didnt put me off my stay
