3 Nights as base for Northern Wales
we did our own breakfast - did not order through the pub/restaurant. Cottage was actually very nice. Picked up keys from Pub next door - not a problem to check in. Did eat at the Pub for a dinner - quite good we would recommend.
Arrived after check in time, but Cottage was not fully cleaned prior to arrival so did wait a bit for that to get done. They were very nice and tried to be very accommodating.

A perfect home from home
The Smithy is located on the isde of the main route from Newton to Welshpool and was very easy to find, fenced off from the actual Horseshoes Inn so there was privacy

Great cottage.
Everything about the cottage,pub and location were spot on. The local canal gave us access to a great walk on both evenings with plenty of wildlife to see.
The jackdaws woke up too early.

Loved it - hidden gem, but really great place for one or two exploring the area.
Very comfortable and just what two of us needed for a short stay for a wedding nearby. Proximity to the pub!

Ground floor accommodation.
Lovely cottage with seating, tv and small kitchen with table and chairs. Outside the property is a lovely sun trap in the afternoon/evening. Close to main road we were using to travel to South Wales so a good choice to break the journey. Pub next door serving food. Can park outside property. All on one level excellent for my wife who has walking difficulties.
Settee was not very comfortable. Small kitchen had everything for a short stay except a microwave.
