The Postmaster's Studio Apartment Derby Tasmania is especially popular with couples.
Just off the Main Street in the beautiful riverside township of Derby the Postmaster's Studio Apartment offers all the modern conveniences of a city studio apartment with the cosy style and comfort of a mountain village.
Perfectly located at the head of the world renowned Blue Derby MTB Trails it is literally less than 100 metres from the privacy of your Apartment to the exhilarating action of Derby's famous bike trails, its picturesque river charm and wonderful mountain walks.
Derby's historic Postmaster's Lodge has been recently renovated with the original main building providing accommodation for families and groups while the ground floor Postmaster's Apartment is designed for couples (plus a the sofa bed if needed).
The Studio Apartment was originally the mail sorting rooms for the local Postmaster.
At over 50sqm the Studio Apartment is ideal for couples. The open plan living area includes a well equipped kitchen/dining area with all the mod cons. There is also a double sized sofa bed with a genuine spring mattress for the child or extra guests. After a day out and about just kick back and enjoy the hi speed SmartTV and FREE Wi-Fi.
The striking queen sized bedroom area includes a spacious robe and dressing area and private computer space. The en-suite is stunning with Italian tiles, walk in shower and in-floor heating: the whole Apartment is heated or cooled as required by a Fujitsu reverse cycle pump.
You can easily prepare a delicious meal the Apartment's well equipped kitchen (no oven, but plenty of cookers and pans) or it is just a short stroll to Derby's Main Street pubs and cafes.
In the backyard of the Postmmaster's you also have your own private laundry and storage shed for excess luggage and bikes.
The township itself is the perfect spot not just for the famous Blue Derby MTB Trails but for bush walking, fishing and kayaking.
It is a great base for touring Tasmania's beautiful north eastern wineries, waterfalls, forests and beaches: for example it is just 90 minutes from the spectacular Bay of Fires and 60 minutes to the famous Pipers Brook Vineyard.
Derby is also home to the annual madcap Derby River Derby and regularly hosts the best MTBers from around Australia and overseas for events such as the upcoming Enduro World Series.
Derby is an ideal stopover if you are traveling to the beautiful East Coast from either Devonport or Launceston and is just an hour from St Helens.

Great location, perfect place for a couple. Everything that you needed with amenities. Easy check in process. Toaster didn't toast properly, powerpoints in bike shed didn't work. Overall a great place to stay in Derby. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Fantastic little studio with everything that you need.

The apartment overall is great awesome bathroom, very clean and kitchen too is nice. and so too are the owners. However a couple of things that made my stay not a pleasant as it could have been. The place does not have a screen door, extremely annoying as I spent much time fighting blowflies. also once the front door is closed you are locked out from the outside world. The windows don't open and no screens on them.
Bike storage is actually a little far for this apartment as access is via next door property and into the vicinity of the rear apartment which feels kind of intrusive when they are all out the back. I actually never used it.
One thing the owners should prepare potential renters it that there is a workshop above the apartment. I still did have a great time.
