Iruka Hostel

At first, I was a little skeptical when I saw the signage at the entrance. The 2nd floor was closed despite the instructions, so I had to go up to the 3rd floor instead. But the moment I entered, I was amazed by how clean, cozy, and welcoming the place was. The owners were incredibly hospitable and made me feel right at home. Check-in and check-out were seamless. What I loved most about the place was the library, the manga collection, and the aquarium. I also really appreciated that the tap water is drinkable. And Kawaaiiiii cats! The location is convenient too, about a 10–15 minute walk from Toyama Station and Dentetsu-Toyama Station. Honestly, I loved almost everything about this place. Just one small thing to note: since the bunk beds are made of thick plywood, you can hear quite a bit of movement from within the room. As a light sleeper, I’d recommend choosing the upper bunk if possible. And definitely grab those earplugs from the counter! 😉 Overall, I had a wonderful stay. It truly feels like home, and I’d happily stay here again!

The location was great. It was a 6 minute walk from the train station. Loved the beds. Super comfortable.

The size and design of the beds was great. Comfortable and easy to store your gear. Bathroom and toilets were excellent.
