Boutique cottage central Wells

Very well decorated and perfectly located cottage/ house on quiet street in central Wells. The kitchen is amazingly equipped with everything you need to cook and the automatic espresso machine fantastic. Queen bed was comfortable and back patio area is huge and very pleasant. We were visiting friends locally but loved basing ourselves in Wells, as great little city and nice walking up into the surrounding hills and fields. Parking space around the corner was conviennent and Waitrose just a few blocks walk.

Minor things. The queen bedroom faces a historic streetlight and only wooden slatted shutters are available, so light leaks through. A curtain addition (like the 2nd bedroom) would be a great. The living area downstairs is cozy but it’s awkward to watch the high mounted tv from turned couches (so we didn’t really use). The lighting in the living and dining area is limited to very bright ceiling lights and one floor lamp so impossible to get much of a mood. Maybe another floor lamp or two if dimmers can’t be used on the ceiling lights?

Stylish, well equipped, excellent location, allocated parking, helpful hosts

Suggest some simple instructions for working the microwave (tho host helped promptly when asked). Also suggest some books related to local area.

Absolutely beautiful house. High specification, extremely comfortable, perfect location and with absolutely everything you could want in a holiday home. Jerry and Tan were so friendly and incredibly helpful. We loved all the art and interesting ornaments! And it had the most fully equipped kitchen I have ever seen in a holiday let, with so much available for guest use. We spent 5 nights here and were extremely sorry to leave. Would definitely look to return if we ever come back to Wells.

Nothing at all we didn't like. They had thought of everything.

Not the owner's fault of course but record heat - 37C made the cottage an oven.
