Charming, Route 66 flavor.
Covenient location with readily available food and entertainment.
Parking was hit and miss as it's shared with local shops with very limited hotel dedicated parking.

Clean, Comfy, Live Music Near! (Old Town down the street)
Location was close to Old Town which was great to visit and they have live music on Fridays and Saturdays! Staff was great!
No early check in, but they will hold your bags for you!

Relaxed outside area with seating and plants.
The open aspect with seating areas around the swimming pool. It was pleasant to sit outside at the various tables and seats.
The location is near to the old town, an easy walk.

The El Vado Motel is both modern and yet an homage to the Rte 66 history and vibe.
Super cute courtyard area and very comfortable room. Also the location is right across the street from the Botanic Gardens which were fabulous and a restful place to walk.
Ice machine was broken throughout out stay. Parking was challenging especially during the live music event.

Stylish place to stay - especially for young couples!
Superbe! Great vibes! Originally built in 1937 (or opened 1937) on Route 66 and reconstructed in high quality. Rooms and beds wonderful - best quality bedding’s and towels. Great swimming pool and leisure area. Just beautifully reconstructed by interior designers and landscape designer… really tastefully stylish.
A must stay in Albuquerque - tradition pure!

Absolutely loved the place! Will stay again!
Easy wall to Old Town Albuquerque!
Great Tap Room!
Great food selections!
Very comfortable bed and linens
It is on a busy intersection so sometimes, motorcycles or hot rods were annoying, but that is no fault of the motel. The rooms were well insulated for blocking sound from rooms next door.

A comfortable and welcoming motel with personality.
Nicely renovated, historical motel. Staff were very friendly, Kimberley (?) especially. We liked that there was fresh coffee in reception as well as facilities in the room. The complimentary welcome drinks from the taproom on our first night were also a generous touch. We walked to historic downtown and the aquarium is across the road. Room was comfy and quiet. Bagel shop next door and good New Mexican across the road.
The parking is a bit limited and it’s basically a public location. We didn’t have any issues but I was conscious of it.

Items in room could be cleaner such as lamps and lamp bases. Pretty grungy.
No one in office at checkout so couldn’t purchase souvenirs or get coffee.

Comfortable, safe and relaxing.
The courtyard and priory are quaint and beautiful. The aroma of the rosemary by the doors of the rooms! So peaceful and uplifting. The staff was wonderful and helpful, friendly and kind. And the bed!!!!! Oh my goodness the bed was so so comfortable. The room itself was comfortable and felt safe as the rooms are facing the courtyard that is enclosed. Very clean also.
Maybe a small fridge in the room for waters.

Disappointing
The location was excellent - within walking distance to Old Town and across the street from the Botanic Garden and Aquarium. The common areas were nice.
We booked a king room, assuming that it would be large enough for 2, but it was not. The room was tiny and we barely had enough room to move around. The space was small and filled with a lot of unnecessary furniture. The lighting in the room was terrible - two lamps on the bedside tables and one over the sink. There was no refrigerator in the room which was surprising, given it is a motor lodge. There was a heavy rainstorm one day and upon returning to our room, we found that the floor by the door was covered in water, which must have come in under the closed door. Most of the food pods (small onsite dining) were closed most of the time. And the traffic noise from the road was very loud and obnoxious. Given the price we paid for the room, we were extremely disappointed. Be sure to bring earplugs. Also, consider booking a suite versus a king, in order to get adequate space for more than one person and a refrigerator.

Beautifully designed complex in traditional adobe style and abundant in comfort.
The complex includes restaurants and other small businesses, a pub and an events center. Beautifully coordinated design of buildings and landscaping. Very lovely room with traditional beamed ceiling, comfortable bed, good lighting, very secure and quiet, considering the location on Route 66!
Nothing at all to dislike - great facility.

We will definitely stay again!
It was a nice re-model on what was obviously an older motel. Nice community outdoor space with seating and pool area. We were a late check-in so we’re not able to experience the bar/lounge experience, but the “vibe” was good. Staff was very helpful and accommodating with our late arrival.

Nice over night with comfortable rooms and amenities.
Breakfast was not an option, but they did provide a free drink with check-in and had coffee available in the reception area with various sugars and creamers, hot sleeves for coffee cups, lids, and stirs.
Well, my husband was caught by a piece of metal sticking out on the entry door and began bleeding. We had to ask for first aid assistance instead of it being offered when the clerk saw my husband bleeding. Additionally, I sent an email requesting an early check-in (an hour before the regular time), and I received a notification two days after our scheduled check-in date.

Disappointed in choosing this hotel
The location was convenient, if you're doing things in that part of Albuquerque.
1) There was confusion about our reservation when checking in. It would have been very helpful to known our room was not reserved when I called the reservation desk, weeks before our arrival. Fortunately, they did work us into a new room, but again was told it was one price at check in, and then they attempted to charge a higher price when I came back in, as requested to update our reservation.
2) Parking was confusing and lacking.
3) There was a horrible smell in our room. Enough to cause headaches and feel nauseous. I alerted the front desk and I felt like they've been told this before, but brushed aside our concern.
4) There's live music literally outside our door. Don't expect quiet and comfort sleeping outside a bar area.

Comfortable bed. Everything was there. Entertaining, a bar, a lovely courtyard, food available, and a pool which unfortunately was not open when we were there.
The pool was closed.

Convenient stop
The pool and rooms were nice. Super clean rooms.hvac was great. The bed was super comfy memory foam.
There's not a lot of tree shade in the courtyard. the outside walls white color is extremely reflective and concrete walkways are also bright its a bit difficult to adjust eyes when going from inside room to the outside. Also the temperature of the light bulbs in the site is not consistent even in the room one bedside table would have bright daylight and other side of bed would be warm tone.I would recommend staying in The 3000 to 3200k light color to make things nicer more uniform. Also bedside lamp the usb and convenience outlets are worn not really working anymore.

Ruined by the front desk
The manager who greeted me saw me, an older white woman with three suitcases and demanded to know how I was able to get into the motel in a rude voice. The back door another guest saw me and my bags and let me in. Whereas, she never once offered me any help with my bags. The hotel lobby is far from the back parking lot. It was a hot day.
Then, she said in another rude voice “we don’t take cash.” In the middle of me trying to check in,she left to check rooms.
I had $ transferred to my debit card soon thereafter. Tried to engage with her, but no luck.
During my check in, she was on her phone.
Never once acted kind or welcoming.
Put a damper on my short stay. She was training someone that night.
While I understand her concerns about security, there was absolutely no reason for her aggressive behavior.
Such a beautiful place and she ruined it for me, won’t come back as long as she works the front desk.
Oh and I thought I recognized the trainee, and she snapped she did not work here when you were here last.
The women who checked me in that time, were so kind, fun and welcoming, had a perfect stay.
No one in the hospitality business should ever speak to a guest in that tone of voice and especially not repeatedly. Not a bit of warmth.

If you want to stay in a vintage Route 66 memorable motel in Albuquerque, go to the El Vadao.
Our room was clean & quiet. The tap room, pool & property grounds were beautiful.
Parking for the facility was terrible.

Great location close to downtown.
The facilities where adequate for your money. It was cute with a great outdoors sitting area. It has a great restaurant, “Buen Provecho” excellent food. The motel had live music on weekends making it very lively to sit outside with great food and music. It also has a pool which was perfect for those really hot days.
The parking during the live music days was difficult since it is very limited, you have to find street parking by the neighborhood. No big deal, but just be aware.
The mattress was the biggest problem I had, it was sagging, and I had trouble sleeping.
The motel is very close to downtown, but there are a few abandoned buildings before you get there. It looks scary, but it is safe. Not the motels fault though, but good to know.

Ok for 1 night.
Liked the outside look of the motel, and cleanliness of our room. The pool looked nice, too.
Thought the room was set up very minimalistic, Not warm and cozy.
Parking was too far away for an elderly person to carry luggage in. That could be solved with a baggage cart.

The outside was retro but the inside was pretty much run of the mill, but very good, just not retro as advertised
The room lighting was terrible!

Convenient Location With a Dash of Nostalgia
The El Vado Motel is a lovingly restored motel off of Route 66. The charm of the old architecture has been retained although the facilities and decor are modern. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms that had a king-sized bed, but it was spacious enough for our needs, and the outdoor space available to guests was a good place to relax. My husband even spotted hummingbirds! We found the location convenient to Old Town and to the Bosque (about a 15-minute walk in opposite directions), and it was within close driving distance to other attractions, like Petroglyph National Monument.
This is my fault for not reading the description more closely, but I didn't realize there was no refrigerator in the room.

Nice place to stay but not if your a late night arrival.
Comfortable bed. Nice atmosphere. Clean. Close to Old Town.
Prechecked with El Vado Hotel we would have a 12:30am arrival and they assured us there would be someone in the lobby to check us in. After getting dropped off by Lyft we found everything dark and locked up tight. Spent an hour trying to find someone, calling their number & messaging booking.com (couldnt find a phone #), then trying to book elsewhere. Two seniors stuck out on the streets late at night in Albuquerque was scary! Just when we were trying to get another Lyft after booking another place, someone from the hotel showed up to check us in. An hour and half later. Very stressful night.

Stay here as you cannot get a better room or location.
Wow - a superb renovation to bring an old motel into a luxurious motel with tons of character. It is close to Old Town, easy to access from the Interstate and has its own bar and great outdoor space.
Everything was excellent.

Nicely renovated, clean, spacious, bright and lots of outdoor seating areas.
We liked the clean and bright look of the whole property. It was clean and well maintained. There was evening entertainment late in the week which was nice. The room we rented was spacious and comfortable, as was the bed. We walked across the street to the botanical gardens and aquarium which was very enjoyable. There were a few restaurants within walking distance, but the hours were sporadic. All in all, a good stay.
Having the small restaurants within the property open more regularly. It was sporadic to say the least and hard to plan our meals. They could also have used umbrellas inside the gated area for those of us who wanted more lounge chair comfort than the tables and chairs outside the gated area.
