The Whitehouse Ross-On-Wye

It’s convenience to the town centre and its outlook.

It’s location. It is very close to the river and a short five minute walk to the town centre.

The only problem I have had with this trip is dealing with Booking.com They took the payment for this trip, weeks before I was to stay here. I do not have a problem with this. However, I had to amend my stay and depart earlier and dealing with Booking.com was impossible because of their use of “chat bots” I spoke with the land lady regarding the potential of returning my money for the days I would not be staying at the property, but The Whitehouse would not get paid for my stay for a number of weeks, so she couldn’t return any of my money as she hadn’t been paid yet. Also, Booking.com have the ability to on sell the room I had vacated. Their business model is genius for making them money, but their customer service is appalling. I will never use Booking.com or any of the online booking services in the future, but will deal directly with the accommodation.

Lovely room, lots of space and very clean. The shower was lovely and the room had everything you would need for one night. The property has a perfect location next to the river and is a short stroll to the town centre .

The only issue was the smell of smoke in the entrance. This was not an issue in the rooms however as we couldn’t smell it at all once we closed the door.

Perfect location very close to the centre of Ross-on-Wye. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Parking on the road was easy. The room, linen and towels were spotlessly clean. Comfy bed.

The bathroom in Room 7 was like an understairs cupboard - it was so small and narrow that you couldn’t keep the door shut whilst using the sink and sitting on the loo you bash your knees on the sink unit. Also no breakfast on offer so bear that in mind. This is a room only guesthouse.
