We've been going to the Island Park area of Portsmouth, RI every year. This was our first stay at this property - it did not disappoint! The location was beautiful and quiet and just far enough away from the ice cream place to keep us healthy. Everything was super-tidy and easy to navigate. The parking would be a tight squeeze if you have a big car, but otherwise this was great!

The cottage is the real thing — an authentic New England beach cottage, with an exceptional view over a quiet cove. The cottage has everything you need, and it all works. You will be transported back 50 years (or more) to a time when neighbors respected and took care of each other, the postman stopped to catch up, kids play outside, and very few doors are locked — a real community. The local restaurants are excellent, reasonably priced, and generous in their proportions. If you want sterile luxury, go to Newport. If you want to discover something beautiful, and beautifully authentic, stay here. This is New England, so the cove has seaweed, rocks, crabs, snails, and tides but there are lovely sand beaches close by.

We really enjoyed the ambiance of this sweet little cottage. Situated on a salt water cove, we could enjoy the views all day long. Everything was immaculate and very well supplied with essential items. Our only disappointment was that to actually experience the water…like kayaking or fishing, it wasn’t very accessible. Very muddy beach and to us it looked pretty dangerous to try to get in. I also want to say that Denise the owner lives close by and was wonderfullly accommodating.

The owner of the property was super nice and responsive, she lives 2 houses down which is very convenient. The house had everything we needed, nice location, good size for 2 people, bedroom a great size, quiet neighborhood, easy access to Newport and other RI sites.The negatives: the sliding door needs to be replaced, hard to access the deck. The house could have been cleaner considering the cleaning fees charged. Its a cute, nicely decorated house and it should be easy enough to keep clean! The back yard is very small, and not very attractive despite being on the water, the kayaks need to be replaced, were unusable.
