It was lovely. Lovely and warm when we arrived. The facilities were great, super clean and welcoming. The surroundings are stunning.
I’m Welsh and choose to visit Wales so that my money goes into the hands of other Welsh people. So to go to West Wales and stay in a place that could easily have been in England with a lack of Welsh language signage etc did grind my gears.

Beautiful and peaceful. Extremely well kept grounds. Good location for trips around West Wales. Great facilities, best bed I've slept in apart from my own.
Took a while to warm the place up due to the season. But once we got the log burner going was lovely.

Can honestly say there was nothing to dislike about the property.

Such a beautiful peaceful place to unwind. I was made to feel very welcome and I enjoyed the farm animals. Beautifully clean and spacious cabin to stay with my dog surrounded by beautiful gardens and a view that goes on for miles.

We have a really nice greeting from the owner, who guided us to where our cottage was and where to park. My name was on a chalkboard by the front door and the key was in the lock, so if we had missed the owner we'd have found everything really easily.
There was a bottle of wine and some cakes waiting for us on the dining table, which made us feel very welcome. The cottage was immaculately clean and, while basically furnished, everything was of good quality and very comfortable. The bed was especially comfortable, with quality bedding.
There were notes on how to use the hot water and wifi. Everything worked perfectly.
The view was stunning. The site is situated directly on the coast, and the garden offers a gorgeous view of the sea. If you want a quiet few days, then this is the place to go.
The weather wasn't great while we stayed, yet it didn't seem to matter. We felt uplifted by our visit. We met the animals that live on the site. The pigs, goats, sheep and even horses were so well looked after.
There was a sense of escape and welcome about the whole place.
I'd recommend taking a blanket for your dog, if you are taking one. They appreciate visitors who look after their furniture and beds. Rightly so. Your dog has freedom to potter in the garden but you'll need to make sure they are on a lead and well behaved beyond the gate, as the animals are free-ranging.
I am a part-time wheelchair user. I may have had a little bit of a struggle with the step up to the bedroom but otherwise, access was pretty good. I am sure there are solutions available.
There is plenty to see and do in the area. It is certainly a beautiful part of the country and Cardigan Bay is about 25. minutes away by car. There are lots of lovely eating establishments there, if you don't want to self-cater.
Two places of note to visit are Tresaith Beach, with its waterfall and superb views and the tiny town of New Quay. Aberystwyth is around 40 minutes by car.
It isn't a matter of not liking this, but you should be aware that the track leading to the site is quite rough. If you have a very low-slung car it might be an issue. Otherwise, everything was as expected and totally fine. My trike is very low at the front. I am not sure it would cope with the track. I'll let you know on our next visit.

The most wonderful and cozy cottage, with everything you would need. The area is quiet, with the sea in the distance. Absolutely gorgeous... The cottage is spotless, with a bottle of wine and cup cakes waiting... Shawn is the most welcoming host. We will definitely stay there again!

Only one slight problem the shower door doesn’t close. Each time we showered the bath room floor was soaked

Amazing location. The family house is located with an amazing view of the sea. At night you can see lots of stars. You can walk to the beach (a bit far) and it's completely quiet.

The cottage was absolutely perfect for our long bank holiday weekend in a stunning quiet area. It had everything we needed, and the owner left us a handful of little cakes and a bottle of wine which was a nice touch. WiFi was helpful as there is little to no mobile signal. We loved it, and would definitely come back.

I liked the bed as it was comfy. The whole cabin was clean. It was cozy. Free use of toiletries. The free bottle of wine and cakes were a nice touch. The space outdoors was spacious and plenty of room for the dog to run around.
The bath towels were not big enough, no hand soap in the bathroom and a crack on the mirror.

We had a wonderful stay at The Old Barn. The cottage felt peaceful and private, tucked away within the main barn house where the hosts live, though we only met them briefly. There are also three other lodges on site, but the setting still feels very tranquil.
The views of the sea all around are stunning, and the location is perfect for exploring with fantastic access to the coastal path for long walks. The barn itself is beautifully decorated with a cozy vibe, and had everything we needed to self-cater. We especially enjoyed the outdoor touches, including the fire pit, sun loungers, and table and chairs for relaxing in the fresh air.
The rooms were comfortable and well set up, and we loved being so close to two popular beaches – one dog friendly all year, and one with seasonal restrictions.
Overall, a really memorable staycation spot that strikes the balance between comfort and nature. We’d definitely return!
There really wasn’t anything we didn’t enjoy about our stay. The only thing to keep in mind is that you’ll need a car if you want to explore further afield, as there aren’t shops, pubs, or restaurants on site. For us, the peaceful setting was part of the charm, but it’s worth noting for anyone planning their visit. We just drove to different areas for meals out in the evenings.

Amazing views of the sunset and great location so many beaches near by and things to do
Me and partner booked to stay here for a last minute baby moon and it was perfect
The host was very welcoming he also let us know that there were no guests the same day we were checking out so there was no rush to check out the next morning which I thought was so nice
We loved our cottage it was cosy and had anything we need
It was also a heat wave when we went however the cottage wasn’t to warm and stayed cool which was amazing for a pregnant woman
We would definitely be returning again

The location and the views was amazing!! Was originally for my partner and I but he was unable to go so got my neice to come me and she loved it too.
Was relaxing and many places to go close by . The scenery was beautiful and i loved how it's a working farm, waking upto horses in the field , so peaceful too. The owners was lovely and didn't really need them as we had everything we needed there, so hardly seen them even though they lived on the premises , Definitely going back to same place and cabin soon !! It is such a lovely relaxing place to stay and like I said the views from the cabin was amazing . There are beaches close buy and if you get some binoculars you can view dolphins and seals or even get a boat trip to see them depending on the weather of course .
If it's a place you want to go to relax but still want to venture out a little that's the place to go (cardigan) and if you like the cosy cabin feel then that's the place to say , looks small on the outside but surprisingly big inside .
You do need a car or some kind of transport to get to locations ,don't need to drive far though .

This log cabin is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a family escape, or a solo retreat, I can’t recommend it highly enough. We left feeling refreshed, reconnected, and already planning our return.

Everything about this holiday was beautiful! We enjoyed seeing your animals, going on a stunning walk along the costal path. The actual cabin is cozy and clean with breathtaking views.
Literally nothing. We loved everything however, the track down to the cabin was a bit rougher than expected

Everything was perfect. It is very remote with a fantastic seaview.
The hosts were very closeby if needed but weren't intrusive.
There is a Spa hotel within a 10 minute drive.

Lovely to receive cake and wine
Logs for fire
Sofa looks nice but not the comfiest
Bed really not very comfortable. Maybe owner should lie on it for 10 mins to see it's lumpy and both sides very saggy
Had a funny smell of sewerage come up thru kitchen sinkhole when shower was on...not pleasant when I was eating breakfast and my partner in shower

The cabin had everything you needed for your stay, a lovely log burner, soft chairs and a sofa. The kitchen was really lovely and the design of the cabin had some really nice features including great floor to ceiling windows to a wonderful sea view. You can tell that the owners had taken great care of the details and it was absolutely spotless. We would love to come back.
The bathroom was extremely small and very difficult to move in. The bed was hard. The chairs to the dining table were super comfortable but too low for the table so we felt a bit silly.

The log cabin was unique, it had everything you needed to have a short break on the coast. We were welcomed with bottle of wine and delicious home made cakes on the table. It was very clean and comfortable and the view out to sea was perfect.

Everything! Me and my teenage daughter stayed in the BayView Pod and it had the best views for sure ! Great facilities and thoughtful welcome gifts were gratefully received!
If you want to be in the middle of nowhere with views and want to have peace , quiet & tranquility, this is your place! Dream place for couples , families with older kids and our dogs!
We brought paint and brushes to paint on canvas , played our guitar, had the fire pit on for marshmallows and had loads of nature walks. Owners were amazing and were very helpful.
The cottages and the Pod are most suitable for adults and parents with older kids due to its quiet location. Whilst Mwnt bay is down the road for that dip in the sea , there’s not much for little kiddy winks!
Recommendations;
I would love to see this place for “Adults Only” or Adults with older children (12 and above) , just so that people don’t worry about small children’s boredom noise!
Advising all guests to turn their outside lights off after midnight for that amazing “Stargazing” experience since Cardigan Bay and nearby areas, like Penbryn Beach and sites in the Ceredigion region, are designated as Dark Sky Discovery Sites.
