Villa La Mer

It was well appointed with stunning views and just as the photos depicted in terms of space and openness.

Nothing at all it was perfect.

Villa La Mer is gorgeous. It has the most amazing views. The villa has 3 bedrooms on the first floor and 1 on the ground floor, each with its own shower, jacuzzi bath etc. The villa has everything you will need and more, lots of glasses, crockery, pans, utensils etc. Air conditioning and heat in all areas. The lighting in and around the villa is excellent with lots of ambient choices. The beds are all very comfortable and the showers have rainfall heads and attachments. 2 of the upstairs bedrooms have large balconies which are lovely, the 3rd has patio doors to a Juliet type glass balcony. 3 beds upstairs are superking beds I think, they are huge. The one downstairs is twin but fixed in a frame so you wouldn't be able to push together. We had the far left bedroom, our 6 year old in the top middle bedroom, our 19 year old far right and our 17 year old in the twin room downstairs. All bedrooms are lockable from the inside. The pool is lovely with a shallow sunbathing end, children's part and jacuzzi at the other end in the sun all day, fabulous sunsets too. There is a spa next door to hire daily. Taxis are cheap into Kalkan and very easy to get via whatsapp. There is a supermarket within walking distance and takeaways do delivery. There are a couple of short, steep hills to access the villa so a vehicle is needed. Every taxi we got for a family of 5 people cost 50tl each time so is consistent and no problem at all. The people are very friendly and can't do enough for you, this includes the villa Manager, caretaker, taxi drivers, restaurants and shop keepers in Kalkan. Amazing cobbled streets, harbour and roof top restaurants. Lots of nice things to buy so keep some room in your suitcase. All in all we had a lovely holiday.

The villa was even better than the pictures show. Very spacious and comfortable. The pool and view was stunning. The villa manager was very friendly and gave us some great recommendations for restaurants and where to go during our stay.

The only downside to the villa was the very steep drive although the views made this worthwhile and the local taxis were very friendly and easy to use.

Beautiful, spacious villa with large bedrooms, great bathrooms and huge living and dining area. You definitely get what you see in the pictures - the views, from every room, are really stunning. The pool is great for kids with a shallow area at one end and a jacuzzi area at the other - adults can stand in the deepest part. Kitchen is good. Plenty of parking if you hire a car. Kalkan town centre is about 3 mins drive away with lots of good restaurants, shops, beaches etc. There are plenty of taxis and the fare between the villa and town centre roughly under £5. It’s a very child friendly culture and feels very safe. The hosts were great at sorting out niggles really quickly and also arranged for fresh bread to be delivered every morning. Would highly recommend this villa.

There were a couple of minor things in terms of kitchen equipment which would have made it even better (a few more mugs, some tea towels, some cleaning products), but these were easily sorted. You should note that you can’t really walk anywhere from here (you’re up in the hills above town). Also, if you’ve not been to Turkey before you should know that the plumbing system requires you to not put any tissue etc into the toilet (forewarned is forearmed!) - but that should definitely not stop you visiting this beautiful area and staying in this stunning villa.
