A Casa Sousa

Great location on the main road, less than half an hour from the airport and 15 minutes from Sete Cidades. The public parking in front was always available. Our room was clean and looked nicer than in the photos. The price is fair. The staff doesn't speak any english, but they were really friendly and tried their best to explain everything. They also provide you with a number of an english-speaking person just in case. A big market is nextdoor and an italian restaurant in the same building.

Even though the place was spotless and the cleaning ladies were there quite ofter, we saw multiple cockroaches on the stairway and the hallways. This could be due to the restaurant below.

Nice place in the middle of san miguel! Big room with all what you need available. Supernarket near the place and a kitchen also to prepare what you need!

Very good location with a great view, separate parking. Kind owner briefly explained us on where to go, including some local tips. Bed was very comfortable, room had A/C inside. Generally very pleasant place.

Breakfast was quite limited for the price, it may be loud outside which prevents comfortable sleeping, while it’s warm in the room without the A/C, using which is not recommended when sleeping. Also we were charged an additional 2 Euro per person / night for a local tax, which was not mentioned anywhere when doing the reservation.

There was a nice ce living room where we could prepare our meals. This was really clean.

There were cockroaches in the apartment. We found two dead and one alive. Maybe they are common in the island but we didn't like them. The air conditioning system didn't work in both the rooms we had and the rooms was far too hot. The location was too far from Ponta Delgada.
