We loved our stay! So many great aspects of this rental property. There were a handful very minor downsides but they weren’t bad enough to sway us from not staying again next time.Pros:- Large rooms And lots of space for a larger group.- Accepts animals for small fee but it’s so clean you can’t tell animals have been there.- Fully fenced yard so you can let your dogs loose and or play in the snow privately.- Carpets are clean, appear new, and very soft!- Garage available for parking.- Kitchen stocked with all sorts of plating, utensils, coffee makers, toasters, etc. Plus a propane grill.- Everything is in great condition and well cared for.- Gas fireplace which made things cozy and homey.- Corner house so it was quiet and fairly private.- 3 TV’s with complimentary Spectrum cable, Netflix, and Disney with Hulu!!!- Welcome kit with coffee, tea bags, and a decent bottle of wine was so nice!Cons:- Lighting is a bit dim. Probably needs to have brighter bulbs.- The cupboard had lots of spices and seasonings but no cooking oil. We made due but the lack of oil stunk.- Heating in the upstairs area was spotty. There was a thermostat but it had to be cranked up to 68 before we felt it. Also, no AC. Not a problem in the winter, but summers may be tough. We are definitely planning to stay here again in the future!

The house was livable and had everything we needed for our stay, but it could use a deep cleaning—especially the carpet in the living room, which still had noticeable dog hair. While it didn’t ruin our trip, a little extra attention to cleanliness would make a big difference. Otherwise, the location was great, and we had a good time overall.

We just stayed up here for 4 days for my sons hockey tournament, and it was close to the rink and to everything else in South Lake Tahoe. The house was fine, although everything inside was quite dated and could use a nice upgrade. The 2 issues we had were that the garage door wouldn't work, and since we had 2 cars and there was no street parking, we had to constantly open and close it manually. Also, the driveway was covered with 3-6 inches of solid ice, and the walkway hadn't been cleared and was frozen solid as well. The driveway was so icy that we had to install chains just to move a 4wd truck in and out of it. Without them the wheels just spun. Over the course of our stay my 65+ year-old Dad slipped and fell on the driveway, and I took a bad fall on the back deck from the ice. I know that ice comes with a trip to Tahoe in the winter, but also thought that it wasn't unreasonable to have a safe walkway to get in and out each day. I would've cleared it myself but the only shovel on-site was broken, and there wasn't anything else helpful to use. Also, it is a dog-friendly house, which was important to us as we had to bring our dogs. They were very clear that any left "messes" would result in a surcharge, however when we got there we found half-a-dozen "surprises" left from the previous occupant with a dog. It's no fun trying to clear dog crap that is frozen solid and not even from your own dog out of fear you'll get charged.
