A great value option for both a city and a country break

really good valuue for money. Immaculate staff who were incredibly helpful and visible whenever i needed them day or night, they also all spoke perfect English which is great as my Dutch is terrible. Also the room was large, airy, immaculately clean with the most comfortable bed i have ever slept in. Also fantastic wetroom, easy to personalise for temperature, good pressure for a nice shower and the head is really high. For me as a 6ft 4in guy to comfortably stand under the shower is a refreshing change! Finally, the hotel is perfectly located on the main train and bus links, and very handily placed for Zaandam town centre which is surprisingly good for shopping

the downsides were only minor. My door key had been terminated early on day of check out which meant a trip to reception and back in order to recover my luggage after breakfast (which to be fair was sorted immediately with the minimum of fuss), apart from that i find it hard to pick fault with the hotel itself. Also (and this is no fault of the hotel) the communal smoking area is in a bit of a run-down plaza opposite the entrance, between the hotel and the town/station. It seems to be in use at all hours often by large groups and i imagine could be a bit offputting for some returning late at night

Happy with our stay but probably wouldn't stay again

I did like the hotel location. Zaandam is a lovely place with lots of shops and restaurants. I liked how close it was to the train station too. Literally just come out of the train station and the hotel is to the right, down the lift. I really liked the "do not disturb" button on the door and the "clean my room" button. The bed was also super comfy and big. The shower was lovely too especially with the handheld shower as well as the rainfall shower overhead.

There were a few things I didnt like: I didn't like how close the bathroom toilet was to the bed. Both myself and my partner didn't feel comfortable using it like we normally would at home....we ended up going downstairs to the toilets near the lifts instead when needed. I also didn't like how the room wasn't cleaned one day even though we had the "clean my room" button on. We were also kind of caught off guard at check in too because we weren't expecting to have to pay a €100 security deposit. To be fair this was refunded the day after we checked out but it did eat into our budget for our trip.

Excellent value hotel in a perfect location for a weekend in Amsterdam

Perfect location, easy to get into Amsterdam from train station 2 mins walk from the hotel, 2 stops to the centre. Also perfectly located for Windmills a couple of train stops away. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby.

I have stayed in this beautiful hotel many times, but I think this will be the last time.

The staff and the location

The new roles include cleaning the rooms every third day, and you need to visit the front desk daily to request coffee capsules and fresh towels. My room's window leaked throughout my stay and was never fixed.

I enjoyed my stay and I would recommend the hotel.

The Hotel was clean. The stay was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was worth the money and very filling. The station was only a walk away and the high street was only ten minutes down the road. I enjoyed my stay.

Walls in bedroom had multiple marks of damage on nearly every wall. Carpet in bedroom also definitely needs a clean. Smart tv that also doesn’t connect the internet

A good hotel for a weekend stay in Amsterdam

The best hotel is the one where you don’t notice the staff until you need them — this one is exactly that. The stay was so good it felt no different from being at home. This hotel is located right next to the train station and it’s 20 minute long from the Amsterdam Central - this is top! They let me check in an hour earlier than the official check-in time, free of charge.

There was mold on the ceiling in the shower — that’s a big dislike. The doors in the rooms close quite loudly; when someone shuts the door in a neighboring room, it can feel as if someone is entering yours.

Totally worth of it. Accessible, clean, close to the city center (Amsterdam) by train and close to scenic Zane Schaans. Lot's of shops, grocery and restaurants around. If you are visiting Amsterdam, do consider it the first place.

Very good location for getting into Amsterdam. The rooms were clean and the reception/bar area nice.

The restaurant was expensive. The beds were uncomfortable. I had property stolen from the room on our check out day. I phoned the hotel within 90 minutes to say I’d left something behind but apparently it was nowhere to be found.

Perfect for our small stay

A really nice hotel close to railway station with only two stops to Amsterdam Central ( 100m away, but very calm, you will not hear the trains). Hotel parking available for an acceptable 15 euro/ day. Nice breakfast for 20 euros/ adults. Our 5 year girl was exempt of payment. A supermarket opposite to the hotel is available. Best choice if you want to visit Amsterdam. Don’t regret my choice

Comfortable bed and very quiet. Nice place to stay outside the center of amsterdam. The staff were nice and the room was clean and fairly spacious. We didn’t eat at the restaurant as we preferred to eat breakfast at local cafes.

Nice hotel

The hotel is in a lovely building, right near Zaandam train station. Supermarket in front of the hotel. The room was pretty spacious. It seems like the ceilings are a bit higher than the standard. Good soundproof (I have never heard any noise during my stay). The service I got from all the receptionists was EXELLENT! Thank you very much!!! The space for breakfast is beautifully designed.

IMHO, the breakfast has to be upgraded. The quality of some products should be improoved. Scrambled eggs were tasteless... One morning, I couldn't find a clean table and just cleaned it myself, as I had no time to wait. I would like to suggest improving the quality of cleaning in the room and paying attention to details I would suggest putting a soap dispenser in a shower cabin instead of tiny bottles. Too bad the floor hitting in the shower didn't work. It could improve the experience.

Great location for accessing Amsterdam by train

Loved the in room coffee maker and nice to have a fridge. Plenty of seating in bar and reception area. Staff all very nice. Did not use restaurant for meals other than breakfast.

I found the shower pressure quite poor. Also on one morning it would not heat up, it was only luke warm. I thought breakfast was a little over priced for what we had.

All the staff were truly professional and yet fantastic on a personal level too. The suite room was large open spaced with a great shower room. The night time restaurant and bar food was excellent totally worth the extra cost.

Being a brit the only thing missing was the English breakfast as its just a continental one but that's more personal preference. The quality of the food looked superb. The bed in the suite was a a brilliant size but due to being memory foam I was unable to use it, so slept on the sofa bed which was more firm.
