Hilton Grand Vacations Club Ocean Tower Waikoloa Village

Huge self contained complex, with multiple swimming pools, activities all on site. Great for families but as a couple not so.

You could have been anywhere. It wasn't until we drove around the island and saw the other areas that you felt you were in Hawaii and if you're looking for an Hawaiian experience staying just in this hotel on the big island may not give you that.

The location is great. Many amenities on the property. There is a tram/shuttle that you can use to get around if you do not have a car. There were always staff members maintaining/cleaning the property.

The rooms were dated. The sofa bed was super uncomfortable. At times we would find itty bitty bugs crawling on the bathroom floor/sink counter tops. The mini fridge in the room is only set to a temperature to cool drinks not cold enough to store left over food and there is no way to change that. That was quite disappointing. Microwaves are hard to get, but there is a common one to use by the ice machines. This was only told to us after many attempts in trying to secure one for the room. They supply beach towels, but you have to grab them when you see them as the run out quickly, but do not restock quickly.

There's so much to do on-site. Great for families, couples, or solo travelers.

Having more meal options in the evening would be great, that seemed just a bit limited.

Location, location, location.

We are Hilton honors members. We don’t know that booking on a third party site would not allow us to collect points for our week. When we checked in, we asked to get the points added. The woman at the desk said ok. When we checked out, we noticed the points were not in our account and asked again. That is when we were told that we couldn’t accrue the points. The room is very outdated, the mattress was really bad. The sales staff member Nicholas, I think, is very shady and very ‘salesy’. I was really thinking of buying into the club until I met him. The housekeeper told us she needed to move past our room because we were still in it getting ready when she came by. The train wasn’t working for half of our visit, just unfortunate. Seems like Hilton has some work to do on this property and staff.
