Spacious house, garden, good value.

Spacious old house, high ceilings, air con and fans keep it cool. It is like staying at your Greek grandmother's, we liked this, but it won't be to everyone's taste. In return for the 'vintage' furnishings you get an unusually large place for the money. The little garden was great to sit out for breakfast. We are glad we didn't let previous comments about neighbouring noisy dogs put us off, it wasn't an issue, only occasional barking. The location is handy, walkable to old town and bus station, local bus stop nearby, supermarket and bakery only metres away.

We had a good time.

We were 2 adults and 2 children and had plenty of room. The contact with the host was friendly and uncomplicated. The location right next to a supermarket is very convenient.

Could be a little bit cleaner and the neighboor dogs are very noisy.

A gem from the last century

The house is simply beautiful. It emanates the impression of high class from the first part of the 20th century, in all it's glory: the floor tilings, the ceiling, the doors, the windows, the furniture, it is all appropriate and tasteful (except some of the pictures on the wall, but they are amusing nevertheless). The beds are surprisingly comfortable and hard (we liked that), and the bed sheets felt amazing to the skin. There was no foul moldy odor often accompanying older houses. The AC was quite powerful, but the thermostat appears to be broken, so it always at a full power. However, we rather used the amazing large fans. The terrace in the back yard is nice to relax in the evening, in almost full privacy (we saw other people 2 times during our 7 night stay). Unfortunately, the garden soil is poorly maintained, so we restrained our kids to the paved areas, but the tiles are not slippery as we were afraid, and they had lots of fun. The communication through phone with Manolis was perfect. We half-complained about the nearby dog, and he talked to the owner to not allow it close to our windows in the morning. He also provided us with some beach lounges and an umbrella to use while there. Thank you!

The kitchen and the bathroom could use a refresher. The bathtub curtain was moldy. We could use a second batch of bath towels, as we stayed for more than a week and did not have where to wash them. The street is not really off the beaten path, and can get loud during the night from the traffic only, especially with open windows. So bring earplugs.

Beautiful property - characterful, clean and in a perfect location.

This property is very spacious and has lots of charm, character and was clean and tidy. The private garden is such a bonus and lovely to sit out in with the shade of a beautiful flowering tree. The location was perfect, right next to a supermarket, close to a selection of cafes and restaurants, a 15min walk to the beautiful town/harbour and free on street parking. The host was very communicative, kind and accommodating, and even sent pdfs of local recommendations which we used for beaches and restaurants and they didn’t disappoint! Would recommend this property and stay again!

Great Choice

I have visited Crete dozens of times the last years. This place is by far the best choice I ever had and my only choice from now on. The house is really spacious, the kitchen has everything to cook, the patio with the flowers is fantastic. Everything is within walking distance. The old port is a beautiful 10 minutes walk. We were helped out for a really early check in and late check-out since we arrived by ferry from Peiraias at 6 a.m. with no extra charge. Very warm hospitality.

EXCELLENT LOCATION

Excellent choice for family holidays. Ideal location- Old town is 10 minutes on foot, next to nice restaurants, cafes super market. The area safe and quiet. Parking spots always available. The house is beautiful spotless clean and the 3 bedrooms help a lot if you have 2 kids. Overall highly recommended.
