Luxurious Two Bedroom Gite with Private Pool in the Tranquil and Unspoilt Countryside of the Lot.
Nestled amongst tranquil and unspoilt rural countryside, La Vigne Vierge is a beautiful 18th Century stone property situated in the Lot region of South West France near the small village of Montgesty. Owned and managed by Kate and Andrew Lockwood, who live in the adjacent main house, this fabulous gite offers an adult-only haven of peace and tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
La Vigne Vierge provides luxurious private accommodation for up to four adults with exclusive use of the swimming pool.
The property has two characterful bedrooms, each with a king size bed and lovely en-suite shower room. The first bedroom is located on the ground floor and has french doors which provide direct access to a patio and the garden beyond. The second bedroom is on the first floor and has a large separate dressing room. The rest of the accommodation includes a spacious and comfortable lounge and a well equipped modern kitchen with a dining area which has wonderful views across the garden.
Outside, set within the large gardens, you will find the private swimming pool and a variety of inviting seating areas in which to relax and unwind. Choose from the sun loungers or sofa next to the pool, a shady spot under the trees or a wonderfully comfortable hammock. All provide somewhere to soak up the sun, read a book or just simply have a snooze after a long day exploring the area.
La Vigne Vierge is situated just a short drive from the villages of Catus (5 km) and Cazals (10 km). Both villages offer similar basic amenities including a bakery, a butchers, a pharmacy, a small supermarket, cafes and restaurants. They also each have weekly markets selling a lovely selection of fresh local produce.
The wider Lot region has an array of attractions including the charming medieval city of Cahors, numerous pretty villages, castles, vineyards, gardens, rivers, caves and fantastic walking trails. We are also situated only a short distance from the Dordogne region where you will find many more sites of interest to visit.
This part of France is rightly famous for its gastronomy and is a delight for food and wine lovers. During your stay you will have the chance to visit some of the many fabulous restaurants that lie within a short drive of the property; everything from traditional and simple auberges to Michelin starred eateries. We are always very happy to offer restaurant recommendations and to make reservations for you if you require.

The Gite is beautifully appointed, Spotlessly clean, if heating is needed - it is very efficient.
Liked the area, but should be noted it is very rural.

La Vigne Vierge is described as a luxurious gite and it certainly lives up to its’ title. It has been elegantly converted and furnished, with amazing attention to detail. We always take a travel mattress and our own pillows but neither were required here. The furniture was clearly bought new for the property and not ‘left over’ furniture that the owner doesn’t want! The pool area is amazing and again the garden furniture is appropriate and comfortable . We would definitely stay here again if visiting this area.
The owners were on hand but discreet and the whole garden was for our use only.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mongesty gite. It’s a classic French country cottage and beautifully decorated. Large kitchen w/ a nice view and spacious living room and bedrooms. The pool was a plus. It’s pretty remote and a little challenging finding it but well worth the trip. We’d definitely stay there again.

Un séjour des plus agréables. Le gîte est magnifique et très propre. De l'ombre pour chaque heure de la journée. Une piscine bien entretenue.
Kate est à l'écoute et Andrew fait l'entretien avec discrétion.
Un de nos meilleurs souvenirs de vacances. Tout était parfait !
