About this cottage rental
Welcome to one of our two lovingly restored holiday cottages. We’ve created a peaceful place where you can slow down, relax and enjoy the beautiful Dordogne countryside.
Tucked away at the end of a quiet lane, the cottage is wonderfully peaceful and private, yet ideally situated for exploring the Dordogne, with Sarlat, Les Eyzies, Montignac, Périgueux, Beynac and Domme all within easy reach.
For us, it’s the views that make this place truly special — especially the unforgettable sunsets over the valley and château.
Originally a barn, the cottage has been lovingly renovated to create a fresh, bright and comfortable space, while retaining some of its original rustic character, including the beautiful oak beams and woodwork. It has a light and welcoming feel and is well equipped with everything you’ll need for your stay.
The Cottage
The cottage has one large bedroom with a supersized American king-size bed. French doors open directly from the bedroom onto the private terrace and private pool.
The open-plan kitchen, living and dining area also opens directly onto the terrace and pool area. The comfortable living space includes a sofa and dining table, with the fitted kitchen providing:
* Gas hob
* Microwave
* Fridge
* Toaster
* Coffee machine
* Kettle
The bathroom includes a toilet, shower cubicle and washbasin.
The cottage also has a TV with UK satellite and French channels, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property and garden.
Outside
Set into the side of the valley, the cottage enjoys truly beautiful views from the terrace, overlooking the valley and château.
The private terrace and pool provide plenty of space to relax, unwind or enjoy an alfresco meal while taking in the view. Both the bedroom and living area open directly onto the terrace, making it easy to enjoy the peaceful surroundings throughout your stay.

Karen and Steve were great hosts they were there if you needed anything but otherwise left you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the surroundings. The cottage was ideally situated in the countryside but just a short walk from the village. We had a great week there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks in the cottage. It is in beautiful surroundings and we loved watching the sun set from our terrace in the evening. It is within 10 minutes walking distance through a shady lane to the centre of the village and there is also a small supermarket and petrol station within 3 minutes drive. The cottage is centrally situated to access a wide variety of locations, all well worth seeing. The hosts were very friendly, happy to give ideas for visits and always ready to help, if needed. We were sad to leave.

If you want peace and quiet and beautiful views then this is the place, well sited to explore the Dordogne by car. Small but we had everything that was needed,

A perfect few days spent in the beautiful Dordogne countryside and ideally placed for all the main tourist attractions. A peaceful location with far reaching views, even overlooking a nearby Chateau. The gite was clean and well maintained with everything we needed for our short break.Just a short walk into Rouffignac for all amenities.Karen and Steve were perfect hosts with their local knowledge and readily gave their time for our questions. We’ll definitely return if we’re in the area again.
