Pousadela Village & Spa

Everything at this property was spectacular - from the service given at the front desk, restaurants and spa to the size and cleanliness of the cabins. The views were terrific and we were pleasantly suprised by the Kids Play Area that our daughters had an absolute blast at. We will definitely be returning.

The hotel enjoys a good location with an excellent view over the river. The hotel restaurant is pleasant, offering a reasonable selection of dishes at fair prices. The quality of the food is in line with expectations; however, the service can sometimes fall short. Our waiter was clearly a trainee, with shaky hands and little skill in serving drinks. As a result, he spilled a glass of cocktail over a woman sitting at the neighbouring table. Another surprising aspect of the restaurant was that most of the waiters did not speak English at all and were unable even to take an order in English. That said, I must repeat that the food was delicious.

If you do not speak Portuguese, you may find it difficult to communicate at this hotel, particularly in the restaurant. The reception desk is not open 24 hours a day, which is something worth bearing in mind. It is also worth noting that not all of the accommodation units (houses) at the hotel are stone-shaped houses, which is not always made clear at the time of booking. During rainfall, the houses become very noisy, most likely due to the roofing material. There are often not enough sun loungers in the indoor pool area for all guests, and the hammam barely gets warm.

Need more choice in food

It's such a fabulous location in Geres. The views couldn't get much better! The staff at the restaurant were super lovely and breakfast delicious. They provide. Great food delivery service to the property for those wishing to stay in. Even if the facilities weren't the most impressive, the spa service was really good too.

Front of house staff really unresponsive and deflecting most questions. We were quite disappointed to find out there was significant construction going on at the location, loud noises throughout the day and we were never informed that was going to be the case. Rubbish wasn't collected during our four-day stay.
