About this house rental

Beautifully restored historic home listed on the National Register. Farmhouse modern kitchen, four bedrooms (two with fireplaces) and two full baths upstairs and one full bath downstairs, living and dining rooms all comfortably furnished with antiques and custom furniture. Shady backyard and covered furnished back porch, bbq grill, wrap around front porch, hot tub, and porch swing. It’s a perfect family vacation rental! Well behaved pets allowed with a $50 pet fee each, limit two, and must be kenneled when left alone. Sleeps six. I have taken this spring while waiting for the return of families from afar to reunite and relax in Sadie’s House to spruce up! Fresh, plush towels, linens and pillows throughout, sanitized surfaces, scrubbed kitchen equipment, and thoroughly cleaned rugs and upholstery. We want you to stay healthy and safe!

I would love to review this house, but we did NOT stay in this house. This rating is based on what we experienced with the host & in the other house. We arrived to this house (March) after booking in Jan. and hearing nothing but normal emails from Vrbo, to a house that was under construction due to a fire. We were not made aware of this priror to arriving at the house. Once we got in touch with the host, she directed us to a second house she had down the road to stay in, but it was also, not ready for us. We had several other minor issues, like not being able to get into the basement to access the hot tub the first night, we didn't have hot water, and lots of little bugs. We continued our stay non the less as we already spent the money on the house and at the end of the day a house is a house. Truly just disappointed in the lack of communication.We otherwise truly enjoyed our stay in the other house! The hot tub was amazing, the house itself is adorable and the general store is literally right next door! There is a ton of semi traffic through the town so beware of that!

We spent the weekend here for my dad’s birthday. The charcoal grill and small playset was nice for the kids. The games in the house were great and the kitchen was stocked. The cleanliness was lacking tremendously. We all left with huge spider bites and there were cobwebs and dust everywhere. The mold in the garbage can was alarming sa well. I am a very rugged person and am not bothered by bugs or dirt. But I was paying a cleaning fee and was expecting this home to be clean. It was far from it. The washing machine was filled with black mold/moldew. I believe there were/are cats in the house as well because I was miserable all weekend with congestion and sneezing. We did have a blast playing games as a family and enjoyed the general store. We fished at tappan and took the dogs for lots of walks.

I unfortunately was unable to stay at this property d/t scheduling conflicts. The host was very honest about the conflict after the booking was accepted and refunded me the entire amount. Abigail even attempted to find other accommodations for my family. I have stayed here several times over the years and always enjoyed it.

We needed a few days away from jobs and the city. Very glad we booked this well appointed huge house not too far from Tappan Lake. We spent a lot of time on the porch and in the hot tub. Also spent quality time with the very friendly cat that lives nearby. He was our welcoming committee! Overall a great stay and highly recommended. Loved the little general store a short walk down the road.

Sadie’s House is truly a wonderful experience, and my husband and I (along with our 10lb terrier, Bean) had one of the best Thanksgivings to date, just the 3 of us. The house is quiet, beautifully decorated, and is stocked with absolutely everything you could possibly need. We loved every minute of our stay, from enjoying coffee on the front porch - to exploring the cemeteries - to relaxing in the hot tub in the evening - it’s a great home away from home. Abbie is a stellar host, and very easy to communicate with. Cannot recommended this property enough!

This old farmhouse was a nice mix of being cozy and relaxing! Nice backyard with a hot tub and outdoor fire pit. The owner was the absolute sweetest and was very attentive to all of our needs and questions. She also made us aware of every event/restaurant/stores around the Deersville area. We had an amazing family time at Sadie’s House! Reminded my dad & husband of their grandparents house. We enjoyed the fire pit and all the details that were put into decorating Sadie’s House. You must visit the General Store for their homemade icecream! We enjoyed the time on the lakes also. This is the perfect home and area I was looking for. I wanted to get away over the holidays, exactly the thing I was looking for this year. Our 5 children and their families rotated visit time with me and New Years day all of them there. The kitchen is a dream to behold. I hope to return, but not tell the children next time! Perfect place to escape!

This house had everything we needed. Awesome country kitchen, comfortable beds, toasty hot tub and a beautiful yard. It was nice and quiet and my buddy Bailey (chocolate lab) was even able to go. We had a wonderful time in Abbie’s home! It was decorated so cute and we had plenty of space to spread out with each of us staying in a beautiful bedroom. We cooked in the kitchen, ate meals on the back patio, enjoyed the hot tub, walked to the General Store for homemade ice cream, made a bonfire, roamed the nearby cemeteries, and did yoga at night with a gentle breeze under the beautiful sky night above us. It was lovely time. We went over to Sugarcreek one afternoon to visit the giant cuckoo clock and buy fresh produce. Abbie’s communication was great and she was very helpful and friendly. She truly loves to share her home with others. Woykd love you come back!

Beautiful, historic house at the edge of quaint, little Deersville. Well appointed kitchen with everything we needed. Abbie was incredibly responsive, getting back to me quickly with each question. Note that both bathrooms are upstairs and it would be convenient to have a half bath downstairs. The bedrooms are sizable and beds are all super comfortable. The only suggestion we had was to make the washer/dryer available to guests. With the lake nearby, it would have been nice to wash & dry wet bathing suits and beach towels. Thank you, Abbie for sharing your beautiful house with us!

Our week was amazing in this historical house. It is nicely remodeled while still preserving many of the original architecture and charm. The hot tub was a nice treat. We enjoyed having our dog with us and being able to go on many walks. The property owner welcomed us and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. We even had chopped wood for a fire one evening. Very impressed with our stay!!!

Excellent!!! I rented these 2 historic homes in Deersville OH for my children and grandchildren for a week in June. I highly recommend both of these homes and the owner is fabulous to work with. Abbie answered every question and call very timely and even texted to see how the stay was going! Our pictures are outstanding and our memories are priceless!!!! Thank you!!! We plan on doing this again...same time next year!!!!!

We had a girls weekend at this house and had a fantastic time! The space was a perfect size for the 6 of us. We enjoyed using the hot tub and outdoor spaces. We also utilized the kitchen which has very nice appliances. We went hiking up at Tappan Lake, only 4 minutes away from this property. We also spent time at Breitenbach Winery, Silver Moon Winery, and Hans which are about 30 minutes away. Overall, it was a great stay. The host was excellent and provided all the necessary information for us! I would definitely recommend this site for a relaxing weekend.
