The home was just what we needed for a lovely relaxing vacation. Big beautiful windows overlooking a winter wonderland of snowy trees. There was a perfect sledding hill in the backyard! Fred was a kind and responsive host. The beds were comfortable. There was plenty of heat for the cold winter days. The house has been considered well for guests. One of our favorite things about the house was a DVD movie collection with a television the downstairs bedroom - great for movie nights.

We had such a lovely time at this location! Four friends and I went for a weekend knitting/crafting retreat and it was the perfect level of cozy with the wood stove and secluded on a dead-end road. The host was very communicative and responded quickly to messages. We will definitely be going back!

The house and property are beautiful. Located in a quiet, calming and relaxing location where the only sound you hear is nature. We wish our stay was longer. The house itself was clean and well kept and sufficiently stocked with all the essentials.Fred is an excellent host making our arrival our stay and our departure a breeze.

We really wanted to like this place, and it has many good qualities, but we felt annoyed multiple times a day while we were there. This is not a complete list of concerns It was a very hot week. No AC and only one fan that we lugged up and down, and all around. The “front screen door” is a hazard that was installed backwards and has so much tension we injured ourselves. Screens were haphazardly good and bad. The “deck screen door” was barely operable until we cleaned it out and, even then, it operated poorly enough to be a source of aggravation. The deck needs to be sanded-- splinter in my toe, and refinished. No laundry soap, just fabric softener, made us wonder how the towels and linens were washed? The lights in the great room do not dim and are painfully bright. These are the only lights you can turn on from the bedroom to walk down the stairs. There is one, heavy, floor lamp. The kitchen has new appliances, but there's very little counter space. Flatware is in a container on the counter that you have to dig through. There were only three teaspoons and two wine glasses. There is no closet or hooks in the master bedroom. Both the master and lower bedroom have bed frames that stick out and hit your ankles and legs as you drag the fan around or open and close the windows. The rug under the dining table has no “gripper” mat. I slipped multiple times. It’s a lovely setting. Very remote. Many good things but no space left to write.
