Santuario Getsemani Hostel

Location was decent right near the cafes and bars. Kitchen was always clean and showers and toilets. Staff were always happy to help with things. Even had AC for night time!!

Was really loud at night

The included breakfast is really nice. The double bed inside its own pod within a dorm is a great in between for a couple to save money. I also enjoyed the free salsa class.

Filter water included complimentary would be appreciated. The blinds in the bed area were quite old and grubby, the communal bathroom areas could also be a bit nicer. The aircon is really good and strong through the night but you only get a thin sheet included so it actually can get a bit chilly to sleep. Unfortunately the corner you walk round from the main Getsemani street has a lot of men hanging about on it all the time which is slightly intimidating, obviously nothing the hostel can do about this but I wouldn’t have liked that if I was solo travelling.

The units in the dormitories are big enough and matrasses are comfy. Marko who was volunteering at the reception at the time I checked in was extremely attentive and helpful.

The dormitory was insanely airconditioned. The brekky is kinda poor.

Friendly staff. AC in room. Comfy beds.

Something happened with the fans in the middle of the night and it was extremely loud. I needed to come get a staff member to turn it off. It was advertised as more of a social place with communal areas. There was one large communal area, but it just seemed from the advertisement that more would be available. Also AC only existed in the bedroom. Very hot in common areas. Also, if you're white, consider skipping Cartagena or not spending much time here. I couldn't walk more than 5 feet without someone offering me cocaine, other drugs, trying to sell whatever they could, begging me for money everywhere. I get that they don't have much money or opportunities there, but it got exhausting immediately. Also, I preferred other beaches and nature on the Colombian Coast.
