breakfast not provided but the host had left fresh home made bread and cakes, plus fresh flowers so it was very welcoming. The location and view were fantastic - if you like that rather bleak north yorkshire landscape - which we did!
Lots of interesting things to see and do (many recommended in the well-kept visitors' log book) including Jenny Twigg and her Daughter Tib, How Stean Gorge and Upper Nidderdale. Also LAPWIIINGS!
There were some low beams esp in the master bedroom which were a problem for the taller guests (they opted for the second bedroom} The sofa bed was in the sitting room which had a cathedral ceiling with a minstrel's gallery and stairs which went up to the other bedrooms, so it had no privacy at all. The mattress on the sofa bed was not comfortable. Luckily for us the fifth guest was only there for one night so it wasn't a problem but I wouldn't recommend this for 3 couples.

A wonderful location with an exceptional view. Beautifully decorated and great facilities. A real home from home. Perfect for a family with loads to do in the area. My advice is to book without delay.

The views are outstanding.
The sofa is a little uncomfortable.

The location especially attractive. A beautiful place overlooking the reservoir. Quiet, except for curlew, lapwing, oystercatcher and lambs calling. The bed and bedclothes were lovely. Very comfy. The cake, bread and milk were very much appreciated too. The bathroom was big and well appointed. The shower was strong and warm. Generally the cottage was very warm.
Some things did need attention, The lamp in the living room that didn't work even with a new bulb. The wobbly bar stools in the kitchen with uneven leg lengths. The catch on the living room door not working so it kept opening and letting the heat out. The carpets could benefit from professional cleaning. It would have been great if the stove in the fireplace was a real one. As it is, it was purely an ornament, and there was dust and dirt falling down the chimney behind the board covering the chimney opening and collecting on the hearth behind the stove. Bathroom could do with a toilet brush. None of these things were deal breakers but customers will notice. We did.

Lovely rural setting with great views. Very comfortable, great Kitchen and dining area.
The property is a long way from any shops. If we had realized this we would have bought our supplies in Marsham. This did not detract from our stay at all but people renting Pott Hall need to know this. Wifi reception was poor most of the time.

The view is exceptional and that's why we picked to stay at the barn and we were not disappointed. Although two days were rainy and foggy it was still amazing to watch the reservoir to appear from the fog only to be hidden again after half an hour and it kept on changing. It was warm for late autumn, but it was very warm and cosy inside so there was wonderful feeling after a long wet walk outside to come back and look out at the sheep, geese and pheasants. There are lots of places to see nearby and we went to Druids Temple and Fountains Abbey and both places are absolutely amazing. We would love to come back and experience different seasons at Pott Hall, it was absolutely great for us. We loved the tranquility and the rural location as well. It was our first self catering holiday so we made a few mistakes and did not bring and did not think to buy a few essential items( like oil or butter) when we stopped at the shop, but we were pleasantly surprised by a lovely chocolate cake, fresh bread, flowers and greetings card upon arrival. All wonderful personal touches:)
There were a few spiders living in the barn, but luckily we are not too bothered by them. Mattress on double bed was a bit springy I would say, so probably would benefit with a new memory foam mattress. Saying that it did not spoil our stay, but if I stayed longer it would become a bit of a niggle.

location although quite remote was so peaceful and calming. when we visited in October the central hearing always on and welcoming when we returned from a walk on the moors. always hot water. and kitchen well equipped. it would be hard to find fault with anything it suited myself and my 6 and 10 year old grandsons, I felt safe and comfortable. wildlife on-the doorstep which was great to see. although tv and internet available we enjoyed the outdoors much more.
it would be difficult for me to find fault. I d advise stocking up on food etc. as nearest shop 5 miles away

Loved the space, feel, decor and location. Scenery was breath taking, owners helpful and friendly. Home baked bread and scones, fresh flowers and welcome card on arrival. Loved it - especially the very friendly chickens that came to the door every morning to say hello and join us for breakfast. Beautifully thought out with everything we needed kitchen so well stocked there is nothing you need to take
The very only thing I could fault was there were a lot of cob webs - dusting in nooks and crannies could be improved but this is nit picking I loved this place

Lovely, quiet, remote location, but within reach of small towns and shops. Great views and a nice walk down to the reservoir. Large bright rooms and a spacious garden with table and umbrella - to admire the lovely views. Rippon and Fountains Abbey near by. Excellent cycling area if you like hills.

VG location. Hosts responded v well to a minor problem on site which was not their fault. Loved the milk. bread, scones & fresh flowers on arrival.
I slept v well but the duvet seemed to be thick for mid-summer and woke up feeling hot a couple of nights.
Lack of recycling bin a surprise but understood reasons & took glass/plastic away

Perfect accommodation for our family ! Appreciated the welcome touches on arrival ! Stunning views in peaceful location enhanced by beautiful weather . Our Grandchildren age 5 and 19 months loved the space to play safely ! Enjoyed local walks and a booking at Studfold adventure trail in nearby Lofthouse but didn’t really need to seek entertainment ! The hens and animals provided just that ! Thankyou Helen and Andrew
Rather large stinging nettles in the cottage garden !
