2 bedrooms with a king bed in each,
2 bedrooms with 2 twins in each (and two child size mattresses hiding under twin beds if children wants to use them),
a full-size (new!) pull out sleeper sofa in the great room,
and a bunk bed with trundle on the 1st floor. The mattresses and encasements, pillows and encasements, sheets and blankets are also new! So comfy!
**Please note that the house does NOT have
A/C so we provide fans for those rare hot days.**

The house sleeps 13 MAX. Thank you.

Please check back here as we add more photos from each season and as we continue to add wonderful features to the house. You can also follow The Goslings' Nest, to see current photos, keep up-to-date with special pricing, events in the area and other interesting tidbits. Thank you!

The house is dog-friendly with many 'baby' gates. One is bolted into the door frame of the twin bedroom on the main floor. Your dog will be exhausted from watching and listening to the 100s of chipmunks! S/he will need a vacation after her/his vacation.
The ground/1st/driveway level is a safe space to leave your dog if you are going out and don't want to crate him. It is an all-TILE space, approximately 11' x 25'. You can keep him safe and happy while you are gone. No need to crate doggie nor the hassle of bringing the bulky crate! This room is also perfect for bringing in your non-motorized sports gear to keep out of the weather: bicycles, kayaks, fishing gear, ski boots and skis, luge sleds, on and on.

There are microwave, toaster, dishwasher, oven, coffee maker...

There are plenty of pots and pans, a coffee maker and filters (and some coffee in case you forgot!) full-size fridge, and eating space for 16 (12 at the HUGE farmhouse table and four on stools (with backs) at the kitchen counter.
There is a new propane grill and grilling tools.
The 'spice' cabinet has things such as: peppercorn grinder, sea salt grinder, basil, dill, sugar, and more.

One of our FAVORITE features of Goslings' Nest is the HUGE floor to ceiling river rock fireplace, with a hearth deep enough to sit on while you enjoy some tea or chat with friends.
THERE IS A GLASS FRONT WOOD BURNING STOVE! We finished some improvements on the fireplace and installed a wood burning stove to get the house TOASTY.

This is the perfect space to disconnect, slow down and enjoy the forest with friends and family. However, the high speed Wifi and Roku t.v. also provide you with all you need to work from 'home'.
There is so much or so little to do in the area. We provide books and games. There are hundreds of hiking possibilities in the area, you can visit the Olympic sites, the Au Sable Chasm, the Wolf Sanctuary and on and on. PLEASE don't hesitate to ASK us if you are looking for anything in particular or something out of the ordinary to do. We so LOVE all the the adventures that are available.

The upstairs full bathroom has been renovated, and the main floor bathroom is also clean and lovely with the bright, knotty pine (hewn from the local forest) that is throughout the entire house. There are a full size washer and dryer in case you are an athlete, for instance, and come home cruddy. Ha! Please note the house has spiral staircases ONLY.

We do appreciate you taking the first step to enjoying your stay at Goslings' Nest by letting us share our pride in this property and reading all of this. Any income we make from you staying here will help fund my daughter's training with the Olympic Team. She was selected and has committed to Team!

It was a perfect place to gather our family members for a few days. We love the property, it being nicely furnished and very very comfortable. I also appreciate that it was close to wilmington, Jay and lake placid. We all enjoyed it.

We stayed for a few days after Labor day and left short of our booking time, as this just wasn't the place for us. (I did tell the host it was for a work issue as I didn't want to hurt feelings and hadn't processed a fair report on our experience.) First, Linda could not have been better at communication and responsiveness. The interior of the house was very clean. The exterior could use some attention. The patio could have used a hose-down, cleaning the debris and food stuff on chairs left by previous occupants. Small balcony off the bedroom had huge spider webs on back of the stacked chairs, making for an unsightly first impression. As far as the experience, aesthetically it was mixed. The bedrooms were lovely, simple and uncluttered. Bathrooms super clean and updated and very nice. The main open seating area however, which should be the most inviting, was not that for us. This could be easily addressed by bringing a visitor's critical eye. The drapes were the main culprit (in bedrooms too, as only drawback there.) Unsightly, heavy, and clashing. Simple sheer curtains would brighten the interior, as the house is surrounded by trees, so light isn't a concern. The furnishings are very big sectionals, which overwhelm the room. However, it makes sense for large gatherings of people, I get it. The floor-to-ceiling fireplace is indeed beautiful, but it is cluttered with make-shift bookshelves on either side with a hodgepodge of old mainly children's books and "stuff." Those bookshelves could be moved to the downstairs bunkbed room, leaving the fireplace to be the true focal point. (Also, no need for the huge objects on top of the mantle, further cluttering the room.) Kitchen was clean and updated, but throw out the stuff in the pantry cabinets most likely left by former guests. Much looks old and not so useful. Simplify the offerings--coffee and filters, Oil and vinegar, a few seasonings. The town is a food desert. (There was one place we wanted to try, the Hungry Trout, but it was closed during our stay.) It's a good location for varied day trips, but we spent all of our time in the Lake Placid area for the great hiking and where there were real restaurants if you don't feel like cooking or eating in a noisy bar. We feel the house rate was overpriced for what and where it is and we didn't get our value. That said, I think it could be made a lot nicer with a little bit of effort and a more critical eye toward a visitor's first impression.
