This classic A-Frame Chalet was built in the early days of the Alyeska Ski Resort and sits in the established neighborhoods outside of Girdwood's community center. It features the original wood interior accents, with limited modern updates such as the gas heating stove and Sauna. It preserves the tradition of the early days of the ski town with its natural landscaping, huge windows, and an open concept floor plan that creates a spacious but cozy atmosphere. We loved the location, and overall had a very comfortable experience. We woke up the first day and the heater was not working, and the local support had the issue fixed within an hour. Only complaint was that the online listing said that there was a bed and pullout in room 2, as well as the living room pullout. Unfortunately the only pullout was in the living room, which made it a little uncomfortable trying to put a kid to bed when parents are still awake and no way to fully block out the light when it’s still bright out past 10pm.

It’s perfect for skiers! Although we didn’t go to ski, we enjoyed the area and the chalet! I wish the weather would’ve cooperated, but we were able to enjoy a relaxing getaway!

The property is beautiful and very spacious! We stayed warm with the fire on the first floor despite the giant windows. However, on our stay we were unable to use the hot tub which we had high hopes for when booking. We were reimbursed for it but very disappointed that we could not use it. Another issue we ran into was with the first floor sink. On our first use, we noticed leaking at the bottom of the floor. We were unable to use the sink for the rest of our stay. The final concern we had with the property was with the lack of maintenance of the driveway; my girlfriend slipped on ice on every trip to the car! Overall a good experience but we felt let down due to the lack of maintenance!
