About this house rental
World class oceanfront accommodation awaits you at the Beach House Retreat on Davis Bay! This stunning, TWO bedroom, TWO bathroom, main-floor garden suite is huge, with 1500 square feet of living space, the main floor.
Our property is on Davis Bay, one of the most coveted neighbourhoods on the Sunshine Coast. Davis Bay is a world class destination for paddle boarding and ocean kayaking, as well as a hot spot for whale watching. It’s also famous for it’s esplanade beach pathway, with some of the most beautiful sunsets BC has to offer. The beach itself is fantastic. It has beautiful sandy expanses (as well as rocky shores), which makes it a rarity on the Sunshine Coast. Our central location on the water, with nearby parks and public beaches, make this location a perfect spot for a romantic summer getaway.
The entire suite has just been renovated to a luxury standard, and with extreme attention to detail. It has two big bedrooms, each with a brand new, high-end, king and Queen size beds, complete with high-thread count, luxury sheets and linens. Each bedroom has been expertly decorated to give each it’s own unique character. Each bedroom also has it's own exterior door, creating an extremely private setting for a romantic couples getaway.
The master bedroom is huge, with it’s own exterior entrance for maximum privacy. This elegant and fashionable room has been decorated with carefully curated vintage furniture and accessories. This bedroom faces the ocean, so incredible sunset views can be enjoyed from the cozy privacy of your room. It has a gorgeous new en-suite bathroom with a free-standing claw-foot bathtub and fluffy, high end towels. Even the bathroom windows in this en-suite are works of art. They are reclaimed and re-purposed stained glass panels, and are absolutely stunning.
The secondary master bedroom has been carefully decorated to evoke a feeling of nature, with it’s own exterior door leading to a private patio in the backyard. It has it’s own four piece bathroom at the end of a private hallway, and towels and linens in this room are also of the highest quality.
The main living space features a private sun room looking out onto the beach and beautiful Davis Bay. Enjoy your morning coffee with a little whale watching right from inside your suite.
The spacious kitchen is fully loaded, with seating at the island/bar counter. It has all of the appliances and conveniences you could ever need (and too many to list), including a K-cup coffee maker with complimentary coffee. Rest assured, in this kitchen, you will be provided with all items you could ever want or need. So if you want to cook or entertain, we’ve got you covered. It’s ideal for longer stays, with all the comforts of your kitchen at home.
At the end of a long day of coastal exploring, rest and relax in the cozy, comfy living room with a gas fireplace and a smart tv.
The private backyard has a generous seating area, and lighting in the trees and around the deck. Many beautiful species of bird live on the Sunshine Coast, and eagles and sea birds are often seen around the property.
There is complimentary wi-fi throughout the suite.
Parking is conveniently on site, 2 spaces in the front yard.
The location is very central and convenient. Shopping, gas, and groceries are all within a 5 min drive.
Three well known and well reviewed restaurants (The Wobbly Canoe, Joe's on the Beach and Gourmet Girl) are within walking distance, and there are many more in Gibsons and Sechelt, and along the rest of the coast.
There are also many places to visit and many things to do on the Sunshine Coast. Water activities, hiking, mountain biking, off-roading, local events, are too many to list. Feel free to ask me, Joanne, the host, about suggestions and recommendations.
Our central location on the Sunshine Coast makes enjoying coastal activities a breeze. Davis Bay sits in between the Town of Gibsons and the District of Sechelt, so it's an ideal place to stay, whether or not you have a vehicle.

Spacious suite, beautiful view, convenient location, plus plenty of extras! We spent a week here with our son, daugher in law, and grandson (a toddler) and Joanne kitted out the place with lots of toys, puzzles, childrens books, play blocks, and a large 'play room' that kept our grandson busy. Not to mention the numerous toys in the backyard! When we arrived Joanne welcomed us with a cake, butter, cookies, coffee and cream - everything we needed to get started. The kitchen has just about everything you could ever think of or want - a far cry from locations where you're left with one set of cutlery and no other cooking utensils! Each bedroom had it's own bathroom, and the ability to close off to be self contained (which was handy putting the grandson down for the night). I was up at 6am every morning and enjoyed watching the moon set in the west over the ocean while the sun rose in the east, while sitting on the benches across the street, drinking my coffee. The location is handy to Davis Bay Pier 17 and the local restaurants. I tried my hand at crabbing for a couple of mornings off the pier, and caught quite a few but lucky for them they were too small.

I brought my family for work stay and we had everything we needed to enjoy Sechelt. Location across the beach was amazing. Enjoyed ice cream and paddling across the beach, walked to dock and restaurants. Groceries and exploring was easy and close. Made coming back from work relaxing and enjoyable. Would love to come back. Thank you Joanne for your ease in communication and attentiveness!

The property is well maintained and all the things you need are basically all inside. The view is wonderful. And walking distance to the beach and shopping area.

Joanna was easy to communicate with, prompt in her replies. Her home was gorgeous and the perfect place for our short stay as we discovered the Sunshine Coast. Beautiful sunsets. Joanna gave us treats and coffee as a welcome gift and a cute goodbye gift. I had asked for some ideas on what to do in the area and Joanna took time to meet with us and leave us great information on things to do. Not expecting this VIP level of service. Highly recommend this home and host if you are exploring this beautiful coastline.
