We wrote a complaint letter to Booking in Holland but have gotten no response.

We expected to have a room on the upper floor with a view as shown on the Booking website. We got neither.

We were given the worst room in the complex - the dark studio on lowest floor with no view. We complained to the owner who told us he offered no guarantees regarding the room. We did not stay at Onar. We found another much more pleasant room and a more accommodating host.

Very disappointing, facilities not as described on Booking.com so overhyped and overpriced. Also insect issues.

The property was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was very nice. The air conditioning worked well. The bus back and forth from the ferry was welcomed.

The room was a semi-basement apartment and the terrace unfortunately attracted a lot of flies. When we got there all the windows were open (no gauze on any window) and the room was infested with flies and other flying insects - it took a long time to clear them from indoors. We asked the host to tell the cleaners not to leave any window open but the bathroom window was left open by the cleaners the next day also - this was not repeated though. The fly issue meant we were not able to eat outdoors and we had to leave every window closed throughout the stay (not nice being in an enclosed box). Whilst the insect problem cannot be directly attributed to the host (gauze on at least some windows would help), our main issue was the apartment was not as described on Booking.com: 1) No safety deposit box (the host said he would correct the site after we asked him where it was) 2) No “full cooking facilities” despite what was stated. We did have a, fridge, kettle, sandwich toaster and a pod coffee maker (no pods) but we only had one 8cm hot plate (to make Greek coffee?) and no cooking implements (all we had was a jug to make Greek coffee, 3 plates, cups, glasses and some knives, forks and spoons). 3) There was no dining table inside the room and the outdoor table was unusable due to flies. 4) We were promised pay per view TV - again a failed promise. 5) Finally, the room clearly was not detached, despite what Booking.com stated. Lastly we left a very expensive insulated water bottle in the room. We contacted the host about this via Booking.com but he never replied.

Great location/Great Views/Great Location

We stayed in a split level end unit apartment with multiple terraces and 2 bathrooms. The apartment was very clean and nicely equipped for our 3 night stay. The upper floor is connected via a spiral staircase. This could be tricky for some travelers. The apartment had a Nespresso coffee maker (you can buy coffee pods at the local markets), a hot plate, an electric kettle and a small refrigerator. Great views/great location and an excellent value. The owner was very congenial and stowed our luggage and drove it to the port for us.

one of the highlights of our time away from home. Was not happy leaving!

The first thing we liked were the friendly staff. we were picked up upon arrival and we were met at the port upon leaving. The studios were in a wonderful garden setting and the views were spectacular. The location was great with many options to go walking. Loved our stay on the magical island of Koufonisi

There Are Better Places To Stay

I liked that the owner picked me up from the port. The view here was nice.

The bed wasn't comfortable at all. Very thin sheets. The hand held shower doesn't hang so it was like spraying off with a hose. Very thin curtains which don't block the light. The location wasn't great. It was a ten minute walk to the edge of town, but another ten minutes to the other edge, adding 20 minutes if you wanted to walk to the beach. Paper thin walls. Could hear the people under me blowing their nose.

Nice stay with beautiful sea views

- Great sea view from the balcony, it was a pleasure opening the window every day - Good location at only 7 min walk from the port and the nearby facilities - Very friendly host, he picked us up from the port and when we left he helped us dropping off our luggage at the port

- Basic room, there is a coffee machine but no complimentary caps where left, not even for the first day - The room is cleaned daily but since there is no mosquito net we found always flies and mosquitoes - The tv is installed in a corner that you can watch it only by standing in front of it and not comfortably from the bed

the view from the balcony is really nice, the room is comfortable, location is good, host picks up from the port and brings you to the port when you check out, if you have a late ferry they are very accommodating and take care of your suitcase until you leave

Feels like home

Clean and comfy apartment. Great terrace and views to the sea. 2 min walking from the best restaurants. Nektario is waiting for you at the port when you arrive and the day you leave he offers you to drop you off the lugage in thr port when the ferry arrives, so you can still enjoy the whole morning at the beach. First class service. Will definitively go back, when in Koufi.

Good location lovely views but overpriced

No WiFi - stayed for 4 days and contacted the owner about the WiFi, but didn’t work the whole time we were there which meant we burnt through data and couldn’t use i pads. Little storage space and furniture and bathroom. Way over priced in comparison to other places we stayed on our trip.

Good stay

View from balcony. Very clean white sheets. Location is good. 10 minutes walking distance to the town center. 3 minutes walking to the nearest taverns. Pet friendly. Free parking at the property. Big beds. Good space in bathroom. Good introduction to the island by the manager. He also gave us an island map. He also brought us smaller pillows since those in the room were too high. Hotel offers transport from the harbour but we didn't need it.

There are some minor issues but worth mentioning . We stayed there for 3 nights and our room wasn't cleaned up after the first night. In total it was cleaned just once. We didn't get a good explanation for that. The room was a little bit too small to move around for 2 people and a dog. Since the hotel is up the hill and the ground is stony the parking was a little bit tricky but not a problem. There was no one around. There was no reception so if we needed to contact someone we sent a text message and got an answer pretty soon.

Dream views in salty silence

The location is spectacular. Close to the Chora and near stunning beaches and yet away from the noisy crowds. Serviced daily the rooms are spotlessly clean even if a little small. The kitchenette is good for breakfast on the terrace.

Perfect apartment for a dreaming island

It was an amazing stay, Nektarios was very arranging from the arrival until the departure, thank you again! The apartment is very clean, pleasant to stay, and the major advantage is the 2 balconies with the amazing sea view. I will go back for sure.

Room with amazing view.

The best thing was the big balcony with an amazing sea view. The room was small but perfectly clean with also a fridge, a coffee machine and hotplates. The location is very good, few minutes from the center but in a very quiet location and very close to a couple of taverns where to eat. Very convenient the pick up and drop off at the port.

Prachtig uitzicht, lekker balkon, goede locatie, rustige omgeving, schoon. Er stond een nespresso apparaat en verder genoeg spullen om iets simpels te bereiden als je geen zin had om naar een restaurant te gaan.

Πολύ καθαρό, με άνετο χώρο πάρκινγκ μπροστά στο δωμάτιο. Μας καθάριζαν κάθε μέρα το δωμάτιο. 5 λεπτά με τα πόδια από το χωριό και το λιμάνι. Ωραίο μπαλκονακι με θέα στη θάλασσα. Είχε κ μια μικρή κουζίνα με όλα τα απαραίτητα για να ετοιμάσεις κάποιο γεύμα.

Το WiFi δε δούλευε καλά και θα μας άρεσε να είχε σίτες στα παράθυρα

Appartamento dotato di tutto il necessario, pulizie quotidiane e cambio biancheria letto e bagno frequentissima. Terrazzo spettacolare dove cenare o fare un aperitivo con vista sul mare al tramonto. Dista pochi centinaia di metri dal centro ed è l'ideale: si arriva in un attimo, ma non si deve sopportare il caos fino a tardi

Se proprio dovessi fare un appunto, la linea wi-fi è un po' lenta. Ma è davvero un'inezia rispetto a tutto quello che offre questa sistemazione

Vista splendida

Leggermente decentrata rispetto al centro abitato (due/trecento metri), a cinque minuti a piedi dal porto, dove Nektarios ti attende all'arrivo e ti riporta alla partenza con l'auto. Dimensioni non così spaziose, con un solo armadio in cucina che ti costringerà comunque a lasciare molte cose in valigia. In dotazione frigorifero, due piastre elettriche, Nespresso, phon, aria condizionata (non serve), acqua calda h24. Splendida vista sul golfo dal terrazzo. Nel complesso, considerando le peculiarità del luogo, ottima location a un prezzo non proprio economico in assoluto (ma probabilmente in linea con il resto dell'isola).

Lo spazio disponibile non consente più di tanto, ma qualcosa in più per sistemare il contenuto delle valigie sarebbe un plus.

Pulizia impeccabile e cambio biancheria ogni 2 GG.

Troppo rumore nelle stanze superiori anche nelle ore notturne. Un continuo muovere letti e sbattere porte dovuto quasi certamente alla cafonaggine dei buzzurri del primo piano.
