About this house rental

Here is your chance to stay in a newly renovated townhouse with enough room to the whole family at a reasonably price.
The house suits all ages. Perfect for large families or more families travelling together.
With 7 golf courses within 30 minutes drive, this is also a great place for golfers to stay as there are 4 separate bedrooms.

You will wake up to the sun on the terrace, so you can enjoy your breakfast outside, whilst enjoying the sun overlooking the gorgeous garden, and looking at the mountains (Sierra de Mijas).
Maybe a morning swim before the coffee? There is 10 meter from the terrace to the pool. Ideal for parents to have full overview of the children swimming or playing in the garden.

You will see the sun in the garden terrace until the end of the afternoon.
But if you just cannot get enough of the sun, do not despair. We have a private roof terrace, so you lie on the sunbed and enjoy the rays of the sun from morning to sunset. Do remember the sun tan lotion!

During the summer in Spain it will be so warm that you will be enjoying the shade on the garden terrace in the evening. Sitting in the sofa with a cool drink overlooking the Mijas mountains is something we can guarantee you will enjoy.

The house is build as the Spaniards like it, meaning that there is a cool temperature inside the house even when it is warm outside.
But if it gets too warm inside we have air condition in all bedrooms and in the living room area.
The aircondition units are convertible and function as heaters during the cooler winter time.

The house is newly furbished (April 2017) and presents itself as very nice and modern
You have everything you need for a modern day life.
Wi-Fi and 199 TV channels. With all the Scandinavian channels, UK channels and Spanish channels there should be something for everyone if you want to relax inside.
We have all the sports channels showing Premier League and La Liga and Disney Jr and other children's channels for the kids.

The house is centrally located in Fuengirola. There is 15 minutes to walk to the train station centrally in Fuengirola. 20 minutes to walk to the beach (1850 meter).
If it is too warm to walk there is a bus stop only 200 meter from the house. The bus goes directly to Fuengirola (4 different lines).
If you prefer to go to the mountains, the bus in the other direction will take you to Mijas Pueblo (The White City), which is a lovely town with views of all of Fuengirola and Costa del Sol.

The house is a 15 minutes drive from Malaga airport.
In case you are not renting a car, it is easy to take the train to Fuengirola (the end stop) and then take a bus or taxi to the house.
The bus stop is 200 meter from the house, so no car is required for your holiday.
Alternatively we can arrange pick up at the airport or at the train station.
We have two own parking spaces. One right outside the front door and a carport 25 meters from the front door and inside the gated area.

Plan of the house:
Ground floor:
Living room/dining room/kitchen (open solution) with direct access to terrace, garden and pool. Toilet and utility room with washing machine.

1. floor:
3 bed rooms and 2 bath rooms. 1 master bedroom with a queen bed, own balcony and ensuite bath room.
1 bed room with queen bed. 1 bed room with two bunk beds. 1 bath room.
The stairs to the first floor has two ledges and a solid hand rail all the way. Safe for children to use.

2. floor:
A bedroom with a double bed and exit to private roof terrace. The stairs to the 2. floor are steep and is not suitable for the youngest of children (see photo). It is a perfect place for teenagers or for the sun hungry mother-in-law.

There are plentiful of shopping possibilities within a short walk.
Both Lidl and Aldi supermarkets within 250 meters from the house.
Lidl have their own bakery department, so this is the place to get fresh bread in the morning.
A butcher shop with Spanish delicacies is situated right next to Lidl.
Birdie Vinos, a wine shop, which is regarded as Fuengirola's best wine shop is situated 150 meter from the house.
Car rental company is situated 300 meter from the house if you need a rental car for a short period.

As for restuarants there are two restaurants, one cafe and a Burger King within 400 meter from the house.
For a wider variety go to Fuengirola which have many delicious restaurants.

Nearest city is Fuengirola.
There is approx 1400 meter to walk to the train station in the centre of Fuengirola. This takes 5 minutes with a bus.
Fuengirola has lots of shopping opportunities, lots of restaurants and not least a 7 km long beach.

La Cala de Mijas is a beautiful town which is just 10 minutes drive away. A very cosy town with nice restaurants and playgrounds along the beach. Well worth a visit.

Mijas Pueblo, also known the white city, is situated in the mountains. Fantastic views from there. Cobblestoned streets, donkey and carriage and restaurants with amazing views clinging on to the mountain side.

The house is a 15 minutes drive from Malaga airport. If you do not choose to rent a car, you can take the airport train to Fuengirola, which is the end stop. From there take a taxi to the house.
Alternatively we can arrange for a pick up at the airport or train station.

Malaga, there are direct trains from Fuengirola to Malaga (cheap) and this is preferred instead of using a car. The old town of Malaga is beautiful but it lacks parking spaces.

In general there are lots of activities suitable for families with children in and around Fuengirola. You have Bioparc, Butterfly Park, Aquamijas, Sould Park, Tivoliworld in Benalmedena and the cable car in Benalmedena going to the top of the mountain with a bird reserve on the top of the mountain.

Bed lining and towels are in the house. You only need to bring beach towels.
Washing powder, detergent etc is in the house.
Basics such as salt, peber, oil and spices are in the kitchen.

We can arrange with a breakfast package for the first day (milk, water, coffee, bread, jam and cheese) for EUR 35.

In the house there is a children's chair, travel bed for kids with a good mattress, children's bathing tub and a foot stool for the kids to use in the bathroom. In addition there is a stroller which can be used.

    The house is large enough for a family of 8,it was clean and tidy with quite a few extra’s like teabags,herbs spices well stocked kitchen,checik in was easy enough nice neighbours all locals,outdoor cushions were a bit dusty and a toilet seat was very loose but overall a nice place to take the family supermarkets really close beach around 30 minutes walk.

    We really enjoyed our time at the property. It was in a lovely gated area with a few other homes. All neighbours were very friendly and we enjoyed the lovely big veranda to sit on the evenings and while watching our family in the pool. The property was well equipped, though the frying pans could do with replacing as does the toilet seat in the main bathroom. These are all very minor and we didn't report as they didn't spoil our holiday and I am sure they would have been dealt with promptly. We did have an issue with the fourth bedroom as the staircase was so steep, we did not use it. Though it does show a picture on the listing it was way steeper than it looked. We ultimately felt it was unsafe to use for us. The property does not have a barbeque but their is a shared area to use. The residents asked us to make a donation in order to use. I would also say it is about a 25 minute walk to the beach, but that wasn't too bad and there was a great bus service right round the corner. The property is well serviced with an Aldi, Lidl and butchers all on the door step.

    House is beautiful with more than everything you need for a self catering holiday. Beds are comfortable, showers lovely and very clean . Everything I love in a rental home . Check in was easy and plenty of information provided. However, I might have liked to have known that the main view on the terrace was a Burger King, a petrol station and a very busy road. It might have altered my decision to stay although some people might not mind that. To be fair, to the left are some lovely views and there’s a lovely pool area also . I wasn’t keen on the area. Perhaps just my own personal taste. No opportunity to just wander out into a bar and the restaurants nearby are all on a very busy road with lots of traffic. I think this is personal preference. Although the main road was very busy it also provided a good bus route so we could travel into Mijas Pueblo and Fuenguerola . All in all a very nice stay . Thanks to Neils for providing a nice home for us on our holiday. We had no issues whatsoever and had a nice relaxing break .

    We were two families that stayed in this wonderful appartment a week this summer. Four adults and children at age 8, 11, 12, 15, 16, 18. The appartment is clean and well equipped. Every bedroom has aircondition. The pool was right in front of the appartment, and we used it a lot. The neighbours of the appartment are spanish. They didn't use the pool that much. We did rent a car this week, which we recommend. We used the car when we visited the beach. It was to hot to walk down to the beach. We also drove to Gibraltar, only 1 hour 15 min drive. This was an amacing trip for everyone in both families. Miramar shoppingsenter is only a 6 min drive from the appartment. The owner of the appartment is serious and a pleasure to rent from. You get a contract and lots of information about the appartment and the area. When we got back home he contacted us to refund the depositum. We appreciated that the appartment was located in a quiet area and would recommend everyone to rent this. It is located a 20 min drive from Malaga airport.

    Min kone og jeg (med litt besøk) leide dette rekkehuset på langtidsleie i januar/februar. Oppholdet var svært vellykket og svarte så absolutt til forventningene. Boligen fremstår som meget velholdt og med særdeles god plass både ute og inne. Mye vennlighet og kjempegod service fra utleier i alle faser av leieforholdet. Huset er på alle måter moderne og teknisk velfungerende med gode sanitære forhold. Kjempegode senger! Solrikt på terrassen og ved bassenget ute i hagen til langt utpå ettermiddagen. Er det ønskelig med mer sol, er det bare å trekke opp på balkongen i 3. etasje. Privat parkeringsplass direkte ved inngangsdøren. Sterk WIFI. Veldig god TV-løsning med nær sagt "alle kanaler", inklusiv de norske. Rekkehuset ligger like utenfor Fuengirola sentrum i retning "Mijas Pueblo". Det er busstopp, storsenter for matvarer og koselig tapasrestaurant like nedenfor huset. Ca. 10 minutter rolig gange til markedsplassen i Fuengirola via en gangsti som går nede i dalen langs elveleiet. Fra der markedsplassen begynner, er det ytterligere ca. 10 minutter å gå ned til strandpromenaden. Det kan være greit å vite at det er en forholdsvis bratt gate fra hovedveien (matbutikken) og opp til boligen. Det kan derfor være en fordel med leiebil for dem som er dårlige til beins eller har små barn. Det koster 6-7 Euro med taxi fra boligen og inn til sentrum og metroen (toget) som går mellom Fuengirola og Malaga via flyplassen. Jeg gir dette leieobjektet mine aller beste anbefalinger.

    We loved the house. It was big enough for our extended family of 9 (7 adults and two kids). Kitchen was well equipped, and there was no shortage of plates etc. We had two cars, and the parking was easy. Getting down to the center of town was no problem with the cars. The house is clean and in good order, and the beds are good to sleep in. We had a great time, and will most likely choose this place again if we go back to Fuengirola. We would not hesitate to recommend this to friends. The owner is a great guy, and was quick to reply if we had any questions.

    Lovely townhouse. Unlike many others I looked at on the internet, this townhouse is light and bright with clean lines of Scandi style, simply furnished. The position of the terrace is perfect as it overlooks the pool and beyond into the surrounding area. A quick and easy walk to Aldi or Lidl in the morning for fresh croissants was a great start to the day. Niels recommended a couple of restaurants in the area and we tried them. Parripollo served delicious charcoaled chicken and chips (and it was an easy walk away). Niels directions and instructions to get to the house by car from the airport were spot on. We didn't use public transport but we walked to the beach in less than 25 mins. We were a family of 4 (3 adults and a 15 yr old) and found the house to be perfect for us. We will definitely book again when in the area.

    Great stay at Santa Gema
    Great stay at Santa Gema during late September 2017. We were two families travelling together, 4 adults and 2 infants. The house was spacious and nicely furnished. We were allowed early check-in, and upon arrival the house was cleaned and ready. Fully equipped kitchen, and washing machine which was frequently used with two infants in the house. Nice pool in front of the terrace. Few people using the pool and garden, and we mostly had it to ourselves. Good location, fairly close to Malaga Airport. 20 min walk from the house to city center and beach, but with two infants we spent most of our time in and around the house. Closeby there is Lidl for groceries shopping and El Corte Ingles for additional shopping. Good Wifi and a good selection of TV channels. Norwegian TV2 Sport Premium was a big plus. Several activities in, and around Fuengirola. DiscGolfPark Mijas (frisbee golf) is recommended. Owner was very helpful and cooperative before and during the stay. If returning to Fuengirola, we will definitely come back to Santa Gema.
