The owner was very friendly and helpful. Property bay window overlooking the sea was amazing

Property needs abit of TLC, it would definitely benefit from a deep clean throughout. We did alot of cleaning before we felt comfortable with things. Carpet in the lounge not fitted correctly . There is a restaurant/Cafe below which is very noisy very early and open everyday! So no relaxing lie ins and the staff have access to the apartment hallway and used this as a smoking area, leaving the main door to the building open alot of the time.

Nothing it was all amazing

The property had nice views of the harbour, it was lovely watching the coming and going’s of the boats and tides, the apartment was very spacious, the living room and kitchenette was a nice size with two comfortable settees, the bedrooms had plenty of wardrobe and draw space.

We could see that the apartment had been lovely In its day, but now is quite shabby with things needing fixing, especially the big living room door just hanging on with one hinge, I can’t believe that Sykes holiday cottages don’t do a check on properties on their books, I would say that this is an healthy and safety hazard, the carpet frayed exposing carpet grips at the room window, A few other things too but the above mentioned I think is priority. The cleanliness was also not very good either, a note was left asking guests to strip beds before departure, on doing this I was somewhat shocked to see that the pillows are very stained with no pillow protectors. The noise from the cafe staff talking really loud outside while having a cigarette in the entrance doorway to the apartment at 7.30 every morning was somewhat annoying, On 3 occasions of us entering or leaving the apartment members of staff was sitting on the step having a cigarette, one didn’t even move out of the way, and one did apologise, but really they should not be there sat in the apartment doorway smoking. I have taken photographs of everything mentioned so if Sykes cottages would like to see them then I would be glad to pass them on .
