About this house rental

Now back in use as a main residence, the house, built by the canon Noble Nicolas in 1530 and now the home of the owners, is built with the remains of the feudal town. The House of Noble Nicolas comprises two 16th-century dwellings. Situated on the ramparts in Avallon's very quiet historic quarter, this ancient garden offers panoramic views over the Morvan. The garden and swimming pool are available for use. Numerous restaurants in the immediate vicinity. In particular Les Cordois Autrement, the most famous. Museums and exhibitions are within walking distance, as is the adjoining Collegiate Church of Saint Lazare. Vézelay is around ten kilometres away.

The Jules room (40 m²) is located on the ground floor of the turret house. It has a double bed (160cm wide) and a large renovated shower room. Lounge area and sofa bed (double bed available on request). A full breakfast (bread, cereals, dairy products, home-made jam, fruit, etc.) is served in the Host dining room. The decoration combines objects from the past with the comfort of a complete renovation.

We had an absolute lovely and relaxed stay at the House of Noble Nicolas-Jules. Hubert and Chantal are very welcoming and make you feel at home. The house has a very characteristic appearance with a great garden with a beautiful view. Every morning a delicious breakfast was provided by Chantal. Our kids enjoyed themselves with the swimming pool, the table tennis table and the numerous boardgames available. Avallon is a nice town with several nice restaurants at walking distance. In the neighbourhood you can visit Vezelay (recommended!), visit a castle or cave or go for a walk (for example near Quarre-les-Tombes).

Profitez de belles chambres dans une maison médiévale élégamment restaurée. Les propriétaires ont mis leur âme dans la maison et ça se ressent vraiment. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables et vous font rêver dans le passé. Si, après un délicieux petit-déjeuner bien servi, vous souhaitez également cuisiner vous-même, une cuisine et un barbecue adjacents vous attendent dans le magnifique jardin. Un endroit idéal pour profiter de la paix et de la tranquillité au milieu de la ville. L'hôtesse et l'hôte sympathiques se feront un plaisir de vous donner des conseils pour découvrir la région.

De kamers zijn ruim en karaktervol. Het ontbijt was lekker en gevarieerd. In de tuin kan je heerlijk wegdromen en het uitzicht is er adembenemend. Ook onze kleine peuter kwam hier niets tekort. Dank u, Chantal en Hubert, voor alle goede zorgen.

Big independent room in the garden of a very old (medieval) house. The garden was very pretty and had a lovely view of the countryside. Good breakfast included. It is in the medieval quarter, right next to the old town center but also very quiet. You have to park in a public parking.

We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad in Avallon. De inrichting van het huis was wellicht iets gedateerd maar daarom ook charmant. Verder was het netjes en van allerlei gemakken voorzien. De tuin (met zwembad, tafeltennis, schommel, mooi uitzicht) was heerlijk. De gastvrouw en haar man waren erg aardig en we hebben genoten van de ontbijtjes die zij maakten. Het enige dat niet helemaal soepel was verlopen was dat er sprake was van een vergissing in de aankomstdatum bij de gastvrouw, waardoor we bij aankomst voor een dichte deur stonden. Gelukkig heeft dit geen uren geduurd en konden we daarna wel direct het huis betrekken.

Au cœur du centre-ville historique et au bord des remparts, la maison de Chantal et Hubert est idéalement située. À deux pas de l'Office de tourisme et des restaurants, cette chambre d'hôtes a tout pour plaire. Chantal a su nous mettre à l'aise tout en restant discrète. Elle nous a préparé un petit déjeuné très varié et copieux avec des produits locaux et des confitures maison extra. Mon fils a adopté la piscine. Nous avons pu visiter Avallon, Vézelay, Chablis pour les lieux chargés d'histoire et le lac du Cressent, Bibracte et Cardo land pour les loisirs pour enfants. Nous reviendrons sans doute, car il reste encore beaucoup d'autres choses à découvrir. Merci Chantal de nous avoir si bien accueilli.

Wir bedanken uns für wunderschöne Ferientage in einem Objekt, das wir von Tag zu Tag mehr zu schätzen lernten. Der ruhige und weitläufige Garten mit dem sehr sauberen Pool befindet sich an der Oberkante der historischen Stadtmauer und bietet einen faszinierenden Blick in das weite Umland. Dennoch befindet man sich, sobald man das Eingangstor verlässt, inmitten des historischen Stadtkerns von Avallon mit zahlreichen Restaurants und Geschäften. Die unaufdringlichen aber dennoch sehr rührigen Gastgeber halfen uns immer, wenn Not am Mann war, wir fanden eine angenehm familiäre Atmosphäre vor. Die Fereinwohnung ist entsprechend des Alters des Gebäudes mondän ausgestattet. Entgegen der Internetbeschreibung findet man in einem kleinen Nebengebäude einen Herd, Spüle und Kochgeschirr, die Ferienwohnung selbst ist mit Geschirr, Besteck, Wasserkocher und Kaffeemaschine ausgestattet. Wir bedanken uns bei Chantal für das lecker Frühstück (gern war sie bereit für uns Deutsche auch Eier zu kochen, Wurst und Käse brachten wir mit) sowie die Gewürze, das Obst und die Tomaten aus ihrem Garten. Wir haben uns sehr, sehr wohl gefühlt.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour chez Chantal et son mari. Chantal est très prévenante et à l’écoute pour faire que nous nous sentions à l’aise durant tout notre séjour. La vue depuis le jardin est superbe et la nuit le ciel étoilé est fantastique. A essayer sans hésitation !

Nous avons passé un super réveillon dans ce petit cocon du coeur historique d'Avallon. Un logement chargé d'histoire et tout à fait confortable. Chantal et Hubert ont été charmants et très accueillants avec nous pour passer le cap de 2020. Nous recommandons vivement ce logement et retournerons les voir avec plaisir !

Vue imprenable sur la vallée, logement très bien placé, près du centre, mais étonnamment calme. Propriétaires très agréables et ouverts à la discussion. Même si aucune cuisine n'est d'écrite dans l'annonce, il y a "une cuisine d'été" et tout se qu'il faut en vaisselle, bouilloire, cafetière dans la chambre.

De passage pour une nuit, Chantal a su être aux petits soins pour que notre court séjour se passe à merveilles . La literie est très confortable. La proximité avec l hypercentre est appréciable , pas besoin de voiture, l’environnement est très calme . La piscine est un petit plus bien agréable .

Großes Dankeschön an die Familie de Crécy für einen traumhaften Familienurlaub im malerisch-mittelalterlichen Avallon. Der Ausblick ins Tal, der fantastische Pool und das köstliche Frühstück haben uns den Aufenthalt versüßt - und in der liebevoll eingerichteten Jugendstil-Wohnung fühlt man sich ohnehin wie ein König. :)

Beide Zimmer befinden sich in einem uralten Gemäuer und sind mit Antiquitäten und Unmengen von Büchern eingerichtet; die Betten sind sehr bequem. Alle Fenster gehen auf den leicht verwilderten Garten mit neuem Pool, der an die mittelalterliche Stadtmauer grenzt. Obwohl zentral gelegen ist die Unterkunft sehr ruhig; insbesondere nachts hört man nichts. Chantelle und ihr Mann sind sehr nette Gastgeber; wir haben uns in einer Mischung aus Deutsch, Französisch und Englisch prima unterhalten. Das Frühstück ist typisch französisch; für alle anderen Mahlzeiten findet man zahlreiche Restaurants in Steinwurf Weite. Auf unserem nächsten Trip Richtung Süden kommen wir gern wieder.
