In accordance with the Town of Kiawah Island Short Term Rental Ordinance, all guests understand that the approved number of bedrooms is 6, the maximum allowed occupancy is 14, and the maximum allowed number of vehicles is 5.
This Kiawah Island vacation rental, located in Vanderhorst Plantation, is positioned on the second row from the ocean and offers 6 bedrooms, scenic views, and a private pool.
The main living area on the first floor includes a couch, four chairs, a TV, and a surround sound system. Upstairs, there is also another living area with a large leather sectional, a 65” TV, sound system, and small kitchen area. The fully equipped, spacious kitchen is perfect for preparing meals. The kitchen offers stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, a 6-burner gas cooktop, and a separate ice maker. There is plenty of seating either at the breakfast bar or around the kitchen table. The laundry room and a half bath are conveniently located off the kitchen towards the back of the home. Guests may enjoy the Sonos Sound System, which can be utilized in the living room, kitchen, and pool deck.
Near the kitchen, you will find the first-floor primary suite with a king-sized bed, a Tempurpedic mattress, and a spacious ensuite bathroom with two large sink areas, a bathtub, and shower with a rain head. Four additional bedrooms are located upstairs. A secondary suite features a king-sized bed, TV, deck access, and a private bathroom with a large rain shower and two sinks. The first queen bedroom also offers deck access, has a TV, and a private bathroom with a shower. The second queen bedroom has a TV and an ensuite bathroom with a shower/tub combo. The final upstairs bedroom has two twin beds, a TV, and private bathroom with a shower. Additional sleeping quarters are in the guesthouse.
The deck leads to a separate guest house complete with a large king bedroom suite which includes a small kitchen area with a sink, mini fridge, microwave, and dishes. There is a sitting area with a sleeper sofa, two chairs, a wall-mounted TV, and a full bathroom with a large shower.
The large pool deck features four lounge chairs and a covered area with a dining table. The dimensions of the pool are approximately 20ft x 13ft. The pool cannot be heated.
The home is equipped with washer, dryer, and high-speed wireless internet.

The unattached bedroom was very damp and heavy mildew. The prop mgr brought us an air filter which helped a lot but not completely. IT appears the owners are trying to rectify the situation but it was not apparent at all that we would be having to deal with this. The main house had a humidity of over 70 even though we had the air conditioning on. Several of us had sinus issues byt the time we left due to the dampness. IT is not like any other house we have stayed out for the past 10 years on Kiawah. People should know that this is an issue for this amazing home. IT is so close to the beach and the property is very lovely. The pool was lovely. The kitchen was very well stocked with excellent pots and pans. The beds were very comfortable unlike many rentals.

We rented this property for our 30 year college reunion. We had 5 couples and the house was perfect. We enjoyed the pool, it is a short walk to the beach, the beach is beautiful, the house had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Loved the home, great proximity to the beach. Had some trouble with hot water in the pool house and indoor upholstery/outdoor cushions could use an update due to general wear and tear but overall a great stay with friends!

The location of the house is fantastic with its proximity to the beach. The layout of the house is great for families.
The maintenance and condition of the house and furnishings. were disappointing and certainly not up to the expectations of a house of that value in Kiawah.
The upholstery on the dining room chairs and upholstered chairs was dirty. We felt as if we should put a towel down on the dining chairs before we sat on them. The pads on the outdoor dining chairs were filthy as well. We just took them off when we sat in them. The washing machine was full of mildew. The kitchen sink was dirty and had mildew as well. The trash cabinet would not close (it completely broke and they came to fix it but it still would not go in) so we left it open throughout the stay. The kitchen was poorly furnished. We found one pot holder, no dish towels, limited sizes of pots and pans, no baking sheets and chipped coffee mugs.
The upstairs king mattress needed to be replaced (dented in the middle.)
There was only room for one car in the garage since the owners keep one there. There was a lot of junk in the garage that other renters must have left.
There were outdoor pots on the porches/decks but they were empty or the plants were neglected.
The house needs a good pressure washing.
We had a wonderful stay in Kiawah in spite of the shortcomings of the house.
