About this house rental

Giardino sul Mare is located near the head of the Cape on the Sorrento Peninsula - roughly halfway between Positano on the Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri - in the middle of a nature reserve. It belongs to the town of Nerano-Marina del Cantone.
The spacious terraces in front of the house offer spectacular views over the magnificent sea and the Siren Islands. The entire property covers a size of 2500 square meters. The over 300 year old house, built in a Moorish style, is embedded in a large garden and olive grove. It nestles against a monolithic rock that forms part of the back wall of the house. The extraordinary beauty and romance of its location is unique. It is a place for people who want to enjoy privacy in the midst of beautiful nature after the diverse offers in the region and exciting day experiences.
However, the small village of Nerano is in close proximity - it takes about 5 minutes on foot to reach the two grocery stores and the coffee bar in the piazza, as well as parking lots and the bus stop, and another 3 minutes to the nearest restaurant.
It takes about 5 minutes by car from the village square to get to the main beach of Marina del Cantone. In addition to sunbathing on the beach, it is recommended to rent a boat to discover the bays, beaches and grottos on the left and right of the main beach (Mortelle and Ieranto on the right, Recommone on the left).
There are e.g. B. a beautiful footpath - starting at the left end of the main beach to the wonderful Recommone Bay (15-20 minutes). To get to Ieranto Bay, first take the path from the village that leads to the house. Instead of turning right to the house, you just follow the path straight ahead. It is a short hike (45 min.) Down to the Ieranto beach, where you can also cross an ancient olive grove. There is also a farmhouse preserved in its original state. On the way you can see the island of Capri on the right hand side and further views of great beauty in every direction - unforgettable impressions for many people. There are countless opportunities for hikers in this coastal region.

The path to the house has some medium-steep sections through the area. You don't have to be a tried and tested hiker, but a good and safe pedestrian. If help with the transportation of luggage is desired, this can be arranged.
In the dark, there is good lighting around the house and garden, the communal walkway to the house is not lit at the moment. We are in contact with the community so that the path can soon be illuminated and made even more comfortable.
For this reason, check-in is flexible, but must take place before sunset. Flashlights are useful for evening exits: you will find some of them in the house. Please note: The house roof has - as is often the case in the Mediterranean region - no railings. Do not enter. Violation is at your own risk.
.
What you will find in and around the house:
All rooms of the house - except the kitchen and bathroom - have a wonderful view of the sea with the Siren Islands and the coasts of the Gulf of Salerno.
You will find a large terrace in front of the house with deck chairs, wooden table and garden chairs. Another terrace is below and offers plenty of space for sunbathing. There is also an outdoor shower here, where you can refresh yourself with summerly warm temperatures during the long season.
The living room has a large dining area with 6 wooden chairs, but can also accommodate up to 8 people. A cozy seating area with two comfortable armchairs (adjustable) completes the furnishings.
An open passage leads from this room to the kitchen with stove (2 electric and 2 gas plates), oven, refrigerator, small freezer, sink, various small electrical appliances and everything you need for cooking, as well as sufficient cutlery and crockery.
In the bathroom with the usual installations (spacious shower, large sink, toilet, etc.) you will find storage options for your hygiene items and supplies of cleaning agents in the base cabinet.
In bedroom 1 there is a large double bed and cupboards, in bedroom 2 another double bed and two armchairs, which can be folded out to comfortable beds and another built-in closet.
In this extravagant house you will find individually and tastefully designed furnishings with some comfort, which corresponds to the location and style of the old property, which has been carefully restored with traditional building materials.
Nothing stands in the way of eventful, inspired, but also relaxing holidays. As the first time landlord of our holiday home, we are grateful for tips and suggestions.

It's a perfect place to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday in a beautiful landscape. The Amalfi peninsula has a marvelous beauty, but the downside (at least for us) is the overly touristic exploration of most of the spots to visit there. Towns like Amalfi and Positano or the Capri Island are of outstanding beauty, but overcrowded with Tourist and feel a bit like Disneyland, notwithstanding the prices you pay.... Norman's and Barbara's place is the perfect alternative for those who love the beauty of the landscape but don't like the overtourism. Located near the cosy small town of Nerano with its two little grocery stores and a nice restaurant, but not more, it allows you to relax with an outstanding view from the terrace to the ocean. Even sitting on the terrace 24/7 will never get boring. The house is perfectly equipped and has no neighbours that you could disturb or who could disturb you. You may want to visit the tourist hotspots which are reachable all within an hour by car or within about 2h by public transport... But why should you if you can stay here? Even when it's hot outside the house is perfect. You can enjoy the sun until noon and in the afternoon you have a shadowy place for the rest of the day. If you are warm from the little workout the path from Nerano up to the house carrying some bottles of wine from Olga's Alimentari in Nerano needs, you may enjoy the outside shower on the terrace. A perfect stay! We will come again!
