Bato! Our host, owner and chef was absolutely incredible. Bato welcomed us in, made us feel at home and cooked us the best meal we had, on our three month trip through Europe.

Disappointing, do not recommend

We were looking forward to stay at this place due to great reviews. It was our last night in Montenegro and we wanted to enjoy some local wine or food as it was advertised.

Unfortunatley, the place did not meet our expectations. We booked 3 days before arrival and once there on the booked date at 6pm, our room was not ready and apparently we came “unexpected.” Instead of apologies or a little gesture like an offered drink during waiting time, the host told us to sit on a bench in the garden and then disappeared to clean the room “as quick as possible.” 10 minutes later he came back to show us the room, which ended up having clean sheets and fresh towels but besides was visibly dirty. Water stains, dust, even beard hair on the sink. Really unpleasant. The overall experience and how the situation was handled was very disappointing. We ended up going to a vineyard in the neighborhood and enjoyed our evening and a few glasses of wine there

Wonderful stay in a beautiful location

This accommodation is fantastic. Bato is a very kind and attentive host. He speaks English fluently and makes sure everything is just right. Besides the clean and spacious rooms, there’s also a culinary highlight. Bato makes his own wine, and it’s delicious. He prepares breakfast and dinner using vegetables from his own organic garden and fish he catches in the lake that morning. He was also willing to take me on a birdwatching tour by his own boat on Lake Skadar early in the morning to spot pelicans, and we succeeded. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely come back!

We had a great stay! It's about a 30 minute walk into town, with plenty of vineyards along the way.

Bato was an incredible host. The dinner he cooked was incredible, and we stayed up and chatted with him for awhile, learning a lot about the area.

Guesthouse Bato is just steps away from the popular Virpazar. Host Bato is a jovial fellow who wants to please his guests. In the evening he prepared a delicious dinner for us and served homemade wine. We had a great night!

The room and especially the bathroom could have been cleaner. The price-quality for dinner and breakfast is somewhat out of proportion.

The owner cooked good food and the wine was good. The bedroom was a suitable size and the whole apartment was clean.

Only cold water came out of the shower. Possibly the other guests just used all the hot water.

The place is just as described, super comfortable and had everything we needed. The shared bathroom was very clean. It's perfectly located in a quiet zone outside of the busy Virpazar, 5 minutes by car from the Godinje beach. Bato was a perfect host, very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend eating at the house - we had the most delicious meal, with a big plate of freshwater fish and fresh vegetables. Highly recommended, and would definitely stay here again!

I recommend Guesthouse Bato, especially for those that want to escape a little from typical touristic places in Montenegro. Owner of the house is very nice, hospitable and on your request he may serve home made food and his own wine. We have tried the wine and it was delicious. The house is close to the airport in Podgorica and to the Skadar Lake as well.

loved my time here, amazing location

beautiful location, I was given a wonderful welcome by Donatella, my room was comfortable although quite cold as we were coming into winter. Good to have a fridge in the room (it would have been really really good to have an electric kettle too). When Bato arrived he was very welcoming and helpful, he gave me a lift to nearby Virpazar and helped me find a boat trip too. The location on the property is fabulous, the fruit and veg grown in the gardens is used by Bato if he cooks (which was very nice), there is horse riding very nearby and not a bad walk to Virpazar or to the lake.

lack of even basic cooking/drinking facilities in the room - just a kettle and cups/plate/cutlery would be great. i think everything else was great!

We loved the room which was very comfy as well as the host's garden with the vineyard. We absolutely loved the food which was very tasty and came exclusively from our host's garden.

The guesthouse is really lovely, a small house in a tiny hamlet - with the only proper beach in the lake within a (long) walking distance. The room was great, and the bathroom regularly maintained. Bato himself and his family were very nice, and quick to give advice on what to do in the area.

The location shown on Booking is slighly inaccurate - the house is actually around 150m onwards from the location shown.

Here you are really in the countryside in the very beautiful place near Virpazar and Lake Skadar. If you go on foot, note that the place is a 50-minute walk from the Virpazar Centre, however the road is not very demanding and the views are amazing. The host is a very very nice and helpful man, who can help you to organize a cruise on Lake Skadar or give you a lift in the area. He is a great producer of red wine and serves very tasty breakfasts and dinners (vegetables/fruits from his garden and big protions!) - which, when combined with his wine, can lead you to the ecstasy. The room was comfortable with shared bathroom and a terrace with the mountain view. You have a 30-minute walk to a very nice beach.

The owner is very friendly and hospitable. He's an excellent cook and makes breakfast, lunch, and dinner (fresh fish!) on request. The rooms are very clean with A/C.

The shower in the morning was cold as the boiler was empty. Luckily the weather was so hot, it was a welcome (yet unexpected) surprise.

Paz y tranquilidad en un sitio muy bonito

La casa es bonita y el jardín muy cuidado, hay un porcho de madera donde cuelga una parra y unas mesas para sentarse y relajarse. Bato tiene viñedos y su vino es sutil y exquisito. Nuestra habitación era muy espaciosa, las camas extragrandes y muy cómodas. La finca está recientemente remodelada y el anfitrión estuvo muy correcto, atento y comunicativo. Mención especial para la amiga de Bato que al llegar un domingo y encontrarnos las tiendas cerradas nos regaló huevos, leche, mermelada, paté y pan, gestos como éste demuestran la grandeza de la persona.

El menaje de la cocina y el escurreplatos estaban viejitos

Séjour au calme proche du lac Skadar

Une halte sympathique dans un village au calme. Les chambres étaient climatisées et confortables. L'hôte a été très prévenant et nous a organisé une sortie en bateau. Le repas était bon et copieux. La plage à proximité est très belle et permet de bonnes baignades.

Klidné ubytování s možnosti skvělého jídla

Skvělý pan hostitel, který zároveň připravuje jídlo. Dali jsme si ryby a byly naprosto skvělé. Příjemný pokoj s klimatizací, pohodlnou posteli a lednicí. Lokalita je trochu z ruky, ale zase je tady klid. Pan majitel zároveň zná místní podnikatele a doporučí aktivity a kam zajít.

Parkování na ulici, ale nic hrozného.

Wer gerne Fisch ist sollte unbedingt einen Stop machen!

Sehr netter Gastgeber der viel über die Umgebung weiß. Sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen (Fischsuppe und diverser gebratener Fisch) hervorragend! Die Unterkunft ist mit dem nötigsten ausgestattet aber vollkommen in Ordnung. Beim Essen ist alles selbst gefangen oder aus dem Garten. Sehr hundefreundlich.

Можна замовити вечерю у хазяїна, дуже смачний Скадарський карп. Порції великі, можна замовити одну на двох за таку ціну :) До карпа йде гарнір з картоплі та овочей. Санвузол хоч і загальний (на 4 номери), але чистий та просторий. Є косметичні засоби та фен.

В номері передбачені тільки стакани. Чайник по запиту. Кухні немає, але можна замовити іжу на місці. Дуже важка дорога з "серпантином" до місця призначення. Парковка на вулиці. Сніданок за 7 євро містив у собі 3 яйця, помідор та смажений бекон. Виходу до озера немає, пляжу немає.
