About this cottage rental
Little cottage (400 sq. ft.) will remind you of going to Grandma's cottage. Main living area is a combination kitchen, living and dining room, open to the rafters. Lakeside bedroom has a double bed, roadside bedroom has a twin bed with a twin trundle bed. The double bed size futon in living room provides additional sleeping area. Bathroom has a single stall shower.
TV, DVD player, some DVDs, books, games and cards are stocked for a rainy day.There is no Wi-Fi or cable. The lakeside of the cottage is open for a lake breeze, there is a ceiling fan in main room. Each bedroom also has an oscillating stand fan.There is no air conditioning.
Towels and bed linens are provided along with some basic kitchen condiments, grilling spices and grilling tools.
Outside amenities include a dock with a sandy swimming area, rowboat, paddle boat, fire pit, picnic table and a gas grill. Firewood is for sale locally. Rental rate is $90.00 per
night plus the 6% state required use tax (total of $94.40)
There is a three night minimum stay.
Big Lake is a deep, spring fed all sports lake with a public access if you bring your own boat. Nearby Evart is the home of the Dulcimer and non-electric music festival in July, as well as the Woodcarvers Festival in June. It also has a Saturday farmers market and free concert. Rafting, tubing, and kayak trips are available on the nearby Muskegon River. The Pere Marquette State Trail is two miles from the cottage for hiking and biking. Lake Michigan is about 1 1/2 hours away for a nice day trip.

The host was great and the property is as listed. Everything works and yard is small but very clean and comfy. Yard is on an incline. If you are a low maintenance guest then this place is great. Kids swam and fished the entire trip and we were hardly inside at all. The dock is safe and the water is shallow and I felt safe letting them swim there. She’d had a bunch of chairs and things to use. Sunsets are great, neighbors and other guests are respectful. We were ther for the Fourth of July and had an amazing view of the fireworks. My in laws live on the same lake and the area is really nice.

Stayed for Memorial Weekend, the weather did not treat us well, but it was still a very relaxing time away from the city and with a beautiful lake view. If you enjoy fishing, you will def catch one every time very time you drop your pole in.

Picked the area because of frequent trips,first time at Big Lake. Caught some nice Bass and northern pike. NICE LAKE!!!! Was like glass most ofthe weekend. Great weather, great weekend!Thanks to Lin great host and communicator.!!!

Step back into the 40’s in this quaint little cottage on Big Lake in Sears, MI. Caught lots of fish.
