Beautiful mini villa right on the lakeside

This is a lovely home in a stunning location, with sweeping views of a very nice lake. The villa is very well designed and was very clean. The sauna is large and very nicel--since it is connected to the bathroom, its residual heat makes the room nice and warm. The supplies are all first rate--lots of Ikea, although not overy generous. The pictures are very accurate. We had trouble communicating with the hosts before our arrival, but i believe that was a glitch in the VRBO website, not their problem. There are no instructional or introductory materials for the villa and area, so we had problem with some of the simple systems, but the hosts responded quickly and solved the systems issues. It would probably help to have them meet you upon arrival--they offered this, but we declined. We used the row boat, which was quite adequate for rowing and fishing in the area, but not designed for long distant rowing. The fishing (pike) was very good. The nearby town of Taavetti has a very nice grocery, a couple of local restaurants (Bistro Ostolo was our favorite). There is also a bank and 24 hour ATM. Note you should NOT drive down to the front of the villa, because there is no place to turn around and the road is narrow. Rather, park in the parking lot and walk down--just a minute or so.

This is an upscale, modern villa within steps of the lake. It features floor to ceiling panoramic windows, a well equipped kitchen, tiled bath with sauna, and a comfortable, high ceiling, dining and living area. The comfy bed is upstairs in a loft. The only downsides are steep stairs to a loft that is only about 5 feet in height. The patio has sturdy and comfortable outdoor furniture and a grill. Management is attentive and the property is kept pristinely clean. Had a delightful walk in the Parsaniemi natural area just a kilometer away. Blueberries and mushrooms galore.

Ein tolles Haus! Durch die Panoramafenster hat man den ganzen Tag den Blick auf den See, traumhaft! Eine herrliche Umgebung. Die nächste Einkaufsmöglichkeit war 10 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt. Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin Jemma war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

The cabins are just as you see on the web site. New this year they have been well thought through and provide almost everything you could want at such a location. There is accommodation for 4, so for us as a couple there was more than ample room to relax. We chose to use the upstairs bed. The ceiling is low here but its worth putting up with a bit of discomfort getting in and out of bed because the view is stunning. It is like having a full wall picture in front of you that is living. We spent a lot of time out on the deck which was remarkably bug free and there is a walk to the headland to the East which is very pleasant.The sauna was great and the toilet and shower area clean with ample towels provided. Coloured sets mean no confusion as to whose is whose! We made use of the washing machine which was useful on our 2 week Scandinavian trip.Cooking facilities come in the shape of a 2-ring hob, microwave and barbecue. A conventional or combi oven/grill would be an improvement and allow you to cook a greater range of things.but we were able to knock up some great meals with what we had. The shops in Taavetti are less than 10 minutes drive away but be warned the Alko closes at 16:00 on a Saturday ! The selection of shops at Lappeenranta is much greater.If coming from the Kouvola direction you really need to use a sat nav to find the place. Signage from the Lappeenranta direction is much better.We went on trips to Lappeenranta which we found very pleasant and did a cruis on the Saimma canal. We also visited the historic paper mill at Verla and the Tsars fishing lodge at Kotka. The Salpa line is only about 15 minutes away at Jurvala and there are interesting walks from the car park on route 6 which is clearly signposted. It wasnt in our guide book and so was an added bonus.Some little things to be aware of is that the blinds were a bit temperamental and needed gentle handling; the glazed partition of the bed area lets light through and passers by to see in. We covered it with the bed spread at night; the TV stations have been selected for Russian visitors a few local stations which often have English programmes with Finnish sub-titles would give a wider selection. However, with good weather we were outside most of the time and it didnt really matter.We hope you enjoy a stay here as much as we did.
