About this house rental
A short drive to ski resorts including Wyndham and Plattekill as well as close to Blenheim Hill Farm this large welcoming 4 bedroom house is surrounded by private 35 acres of garden, ponds and woodland.
On the ground floor there is a comfortable sitting room with welcoming fireplace plus fully equipped eat-in kitchen and a large dining room. There is a fantastic deck for bbqs, views and star gazing or fun hills for sledding in winter time. The spacious basement has a TV plus a bar. WiFi upgrade in 2020 ensures optimum speed for all internet access.
Upstairs there is a huge en-suite master bedroom with California King bed plus 3 large bedrooms - two queens and one with twin bunks and a trundle; all with lovely views. The second bathroom has shower/bath.
Close to skiing, hiking , fishing, golf and indoor swimming at Hannah resort. During the summer it's a short drive to huge outdoor pool in Mine Kill state park and opportunity to explore antiques and farmers markets in nearby towns. Other attractions Blenheim Hill Farm, include Howes Caves, Mine Kill State Park, Kaaterskill Waterfalls, Catskills National Park, Baseball Hall of Fame, and Iroquois Indian Museum. Easy drive to nearby town for groceries and other necessities. Under 3 hour drive from New York City, under one hour from Albany airport.
Swimming: outdoor pool at Mine Kill State Park, river, indoor at Hannah resort.
Ski, snowshoeing and snowmobiling: Nearby skiing resorts include Plattekill, Wyndham, Hunter suitable for all levels. Mine KillState Park 5 min drive.

My family and I stayed in this house for the second time and enjoyed the property and the area very much. The fall colors are everywhere and the surrounding of the house is calm and very pretty.

House was even better than pictures and description. Very well stocked kitchen and inviting deck with gas grill! Amazing game room in basement which we barely used due to gorgeous weather and deck.
Owner very quick to respond to any questions! FR exceeded expectations and we will be back!

We discovered the Catskills last year as we couldn't travel to Europe to visit family and loved it. So we decided to go back this year to revisit some favorite spots (Mine Kill State Park, Prattsville and Windham) and discover new ones (Middleburgh, Schoharie...).
We couldn't be happier with the house we stayed in this year, which truly felt like a home away from home. So much so, we wanted to extend our stay. It is the perfect country house surrounded by a magical landscape filled with native plants and flowers, lovely ponds and cattails... we were also visited by woodpeckers, hawks and hummingbird. It provided us with what we needed: an escape from the city; a peaceful retreat in nature. We took full advantage of the deck and the swings, and got the BBQ working.
The house itself is very comfortable, spacious, well equipped (though you need to bring your own towels) and fun. It is a charming country house with a soul, not a luxury retreat. The wifi worked impeccably for 2 adults working and 2 tween/teen streaming video as much as they could get away with. While the kitchen is well equipped, and served our needs quite well, it is a bit tired but the owners are about to get it upgraded. Bathrooms are also a bit tired but again this is a country house and we were all super comfortable. The king-size bed in the master bedroom was incredibly comfortable, so much so we want to get the same. We enjoyed wonderful evenings chatting or playing games in the living room by the fireplace, or in the basement entertainment room watching movies, playing foosball...
We also loved the location of the house. While it felt isolated, it was only 15 to 20 minutes away from everything we needed. And best of all 4 minutes away from the Mine Kill pool. We got to pick blackberries in a nearby local farm, hike the Vroman's Noseloop Trail...
Our host was very easy to communicate with, responsive, gracious and helpful.
We spent 3 weeks in this house and miss it already. We hope to get to stay in the house again in a near future.
