This apartment occupies the lower level of an historic American Foursquare built in the early 1900's and located in the serene community of Carolina Place in Downtown Wilmington, NC. There are two bedrooms (one with a queen and one with a double bed), a kitchen, with all you should need for day to day comfort, a living room and small sun porch foyer. Linens and towels are provided, and you'll enjoy a lovely deck located right off the kitchen, perfect for sipping cold iced tea on a hot summer day! The vintage décor and old time feeling of this lovely apartment will surely delight! Pets are negotiable, please discuss with agent.

Take leisurely strolls around the neighborhood and chat with couples out walking the dog or families enjoying the day from their wrap-around porches. When we arrived it wasn’t clear that we needed to go to the side of the main house to get into apartment part of the home. Thank God for the nice neighbor next door. She helped by showing us where to enter. The path to the entrance is a little over grown.
Upon walking in you can tell this house is old because of the smell.
There was no brand new roll of paper towels. What was left was like 2-3 sheets. We went to the store to buy paper towels & toilet paper. There was less than 1/2 of a roll left in the bathroom. We have stayed in previous VRBO rentals & expected the normal start up necessities: like having a new roll of paper towels & a new roll of toilet paper.
The towels that are in the closet smelled sour.
Might want to get the big lamp by the red chair fixed. In the middle of the night this light came on then flickered, then went off. Crazy feeling when you know you went to sleep & wake up to a light on knowing you didn’t touch it.
There are no tv’s in the bedrooms only in the livinging room.
Our 2nd night (June 2, 2022) we came back around 9:30/45 p.m. to find out someone had entered the place. Our personal belongings were moved/touched/thrown out. Our expectations were once we entered the home, NO ONE WOULD COME IN. We had to search & find items that we knew we didn’t move.
I sent a message through the VRBO app immediately & advised Rachel. She responded quickly and apologized for this happening. Rachel informed me the owner didn’t know we were coming & that she failed to notify the owner as well due to her illness. Rachel did refund some money for our inconvenience.
Later we found out from Rachel that the owner took the toilet paper out of the packaging & put in the bathroom under the sink. We advised Rachel that the owner could keep it & we were leaving. We found another place where we felt more comfortable & knew no one would invaded our privacy.
