Jolly Sailor

Room was very clean and pleasant. The host was very friendly and welcoming - esp of my 2 dogs, for whom no charge was made. Realistically priced and very affordable.

Parking was tricky - I returned after an evening out and found what seemed to be the last parking space in the village! (A small car park about 200 yards from the pub. Room overlooked traffic lights in the centre of the village and at times was quite noisy with vehicles (particularly motor bikes) revving their engines (but quiet enough overnight). No wifi available. A limited supply of bread and cereal for breakfast in the communal kitchen - but the bread was mouldy (it was very hot weather).

The first impression was very poor because the pub was rundown the stair carpet was filthy and the approach stank of old cooking oil. But the room was clean the bathroom at the end of the hall over a stained carpet was also clean. So a little shocked on arrival at the fabulous of the building itself, we couldn’t park to park some distance away.

The smell and dirty carpets in the hall and stairs and in the room
