Don't miss this one!

It may seem cliche that I clicked on the most possitive for all questions, but it was honest. This place has everything going for it; location is right in town, very close to the bicycle route (EV6), a beautifully furnished 200+ year old property (with all the modern appointments), home made breakfast, beer and an honor box in a fridge in an out building, AND very dear husband and wife hosts. Highest marks!

Pleasant stay with welcoming hosts

We were very warmly received here by the hosts. The place was very much as described. It’s just off the main road through the town. There is a charming garden with swimming pool where you are welcome to relax. They also provide a modest selection of drinks in the fridge via an honesty box system. These are priced at cost and not for profit so full marks there! We had a pleasant breakfast of pastries, yoghurt and homemade jams. The only negative was my wife - quite accidentally - smashing a glass bedside light in the early hours of the morning. A matter that was dealt with very amicably by the hosts. We could be happy to stay again, for longer perhaps than one night, should we pass through the area again.

Quirky place

The swimming pool was cold but clean. The sunbeds were very comfortable around the pool. The homemade fig jam was very nice. It is a quirky place, but we knew that before we went.

We're not sure that the owners like children very much and it felt like we were being watched by the hosts all the time. I asked to put things in the fridge, but was told off for putting a bottle of water in the freezer. We would have liked to have a swim on the morning of the departure, but it was all locked up. Only allowed to enter the property at 4.30 which was a bit late we feel, and the owners wouldn't accommodate a request to use the pool prior to that time. It would probably be a good idea to put room numbers on the doors, as they all look the same and I ended up opening another guest's door!

Interesting room in a home

Breakfast was tasty. There was a safe place for our bikes. The hostess was very welcoming and friendly. She provided us excellent advice about two places to visit the next day as we travelled east on the Loire au vélo route that were a little off the route but worth it.

Hard to find. We had to help out a confused Dutch couple trying to find it

Quaint village gem, close to amenities and attractions.

The Vigne Vierge is a wonderful place to stay for a tour around that section of the Loire and its many chateau and restaurants. A tranquil garden and nice swimming pool with very welcoming hosts. The room was quaint but perfectly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with local produce and homemade conserves. We would happily stay here again.

Lovely, good old fashioned hospitality.

What a gem. Lovely welcome from our host, Laurence. It's not a modern hotel but that isn't what we wanted. Room had lots of character, the whole house did. Good info about where to go for supper. Delicious breakfast with lots of personal touches (home baked bread, home made jams ...). Would recommend.

Homely stay with great hosts

Thank you so much for a warm welcome into your beautiful property. We had a great stay in this historic, converted wine making property. When you walk through the large gate, it’s like an oasis of calm in the central courtyard. The rooms are comfortable with everything you need. At breakfast you’ll get to taste locally baked croissants and bread, homemade jam, and homemade yoghurt. It was the perfect way to start the day‘s cycling

Pleasantly surprised by this historic home with amazing breakfast

Unexpected gem in Châteauneuf-sur-Loire. The outside of the property is deceptive: once the owner lets you in, you will discover an amazing garden with pool, and an old house full of history and interesting objects. Ideal for families: we had adjoining rooms with a bathroom. The breakfast was amazing - pastries warmed in the oven, homemade peach jam; even the yoghurt was homemade. We went out for dinner and had really good pizza. This is a great place to stay if you’re driving the length of France and want to stop overnight.

Can’t think of anything, really. There’s no aircon (but there were fans in the rooms). And this is definitely not the place for you if you like modern decor.

It was a beautiful old traditional house, quite small but with appropriate solid furniture and furnishings, and tiled floors. The breakfast was exquisite, with home-made jam and yoghurt. It was especially nice to sit out in the garden when we arrived and sip the delicious beer provided. Jean Francois and Laurence were most hospitable

Magical stay.

From start to finish this was a wonderful stay. Laurence was a perfect host. Helpful, friendly, thoughtful and welcoming. Great communication ahead of our arrival. Lovely warm welcome into the family home. Cool beers and wine to have by the pool. Fresh fruit from the garden at breakfast along with fresh pastries and homemade Jam. My only regret was that we were not staying for a few more days. Amazing.

Realy old character B&B with very accommodating hosts. Secure parking out of sight behind huge locked gates. Rooms full of quirky character and comfortable beds. Swimming pool a bonus!! Fans supplied in the bedrooms appreciated.

A relaxing and enjoyable stay at La Vigne Vierge

A lovely private property in a small village, our hosts Laurence and Jean-Francoise were so welcoming and made sure we had a lovely stay. The rooms are quiet and comfortable and perfect for a family. It was a hot couple of days and we were grateful for the beautiful shady garden and refreshing swim in the pool. The breakfast was delicious and generous with Laurence’s home made jams. Laurence gave us some good suggestions for local sights. Highly recommend.

The perfect place to stay for a warm welcome.

Lawrance and Francois were the perfect hosts and welcomed us warmly to their home. The pool was very refreshing after the long journey. The house was beautifully, traditionally French with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was really special with homemade yoghurt and delicious pastries. We loved it all. Excellent location for the town which had everything we needed.

Beautiful place with beautiful garden & swimming pool owned by a lovely couple

We had a lovely stay here. Great rooms, a big garden with swimming pool; the kids loved it! Each morning we got a delicious breakfast with selfmade yoghurt, jam from garden etc. The B&B is a beautiful 17th century house owned by a very nice couple who will do everything to make sure your stay is fantastic. You can park your car behind the gate, so there is no parking space problem. In Chateauneuf-sur-Loire you can charge your car (Type 2) from only a 7 minutes walk from the B&B. There are two charging stations available.

Superb

It is a family owned house with some rooms for guests. The room was big, the bed comfortable and the garden really stunning - with a pool. And the breakfast was incredible. Homemade jam, fresh orange juice, tea, croissants and everything is set, just for yourself.

The room is to the street, so you can hear the trucks or some noisy cars with loud music. BUT it is not that loud. I slept very well in the room.

Very friendly hosts, typical French country b&b, traditional, comfortable, the added bonus of a swim in the pool when we arrived.

A little hard to find, and to get the attention of our hosts, but that was quickly forgotten with the warmth of the welcome.

Hostess was very kind, showed to me all the facilities and made me feel welcome. I had even the possibility to use the pool or work near the pool. Room was quiet and I could work without any problem. As I was hungry, they proposed me some restaurants for take-away and they allowed me to eat inside the room, which was much appreciated! Breakfast was nice with handmade yogurt and marmelade, among other things, which I liked as it shows how much they care about the visitors.

Great place, lovely hosts

La Vigne Vierge is very quirky and a fun place to stay. The owners are a lovely couple who would seemingly do anything to make their guests feel at home and welcome. This included finding me some Gluten free crisp breads for my breakfast! Amazing!

We didn’t dislike anything… There were no views or anything like that so it’s not really the place we would choose to spend a lot of time but as an overnight stay, it was perfect

A warm welcome from the owners, we felt very at comfortable and ‘at home’ after a long day’s cycle. Enjoyed the swimming pool and sitting chatting with the owner in the courtyard. This is a real find, an authentic French home, comfortable room, delicious home made breakfast, lovely owners, very accommodating.
