Moonlight Luxury Camp

Everything exceeded our expectations: the location of the camp, the tent, the food, the staff. Every member of the staff was very attentive; usually we only saw Mohamed, he was in charge of serving the food (delicious) and handling any requests, but after dinner, the other members of the staff would participate in the live music performance for the guests. And without exception, everyone there simply wants to show you what Morocco has to offer and have a genuine level of curiosity about you and where you're from like I have never seen before. The camp is small, which in itself is great because it means it is quiet and you are never crowded, and while it's not far from other camps in the area, there's enough of a distance that you don't even notice them. There are only 6 tents (they are building 4 more), and they are all quite big, offering a double bed plus a single bed and a bathroom complete with a shower with running hot water. The tent is exceptionally clean (if you find some sand, remember where you are), there is no mosquito net around the beds but there are also no mosquitos, they are relatively close to each other, yet they are isolated and the neighbours cannot be heard. The food is spectacular and always plentiful. We were there for 2 nights, had breakfast and dinner. While it's not a big detail, they specially gave us a different meal on our second dinner, which we found was quite thoughtful. Some days in advance, Said contacted me on WhatsApp to help me plan the stay, and we set up a camel ride and a Jeep tour of Merzouga and the surrounding area very easily. The Jeep tour was wonderful; we were guided by Said (another one), who is from the area, and showed us things we would never have seen if we were by ourselves. He also went above and beyond and helped us with an issue we were having with our rental car company - he had absolutely no need to do it, but he did it anyway, and was extremely helpful. It was delightful!

Das Camp liegt am Rand des Sahara, umgeben von anderen Camps. Man kann zu Fuß in die Dünen laufen, Sandboards stehen kostenfrei zur Verfügung. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Alle Kosten wurden auf Anfrage transparent dargestellt. Der Kontakt im Vorgeld verlief schnell und freundlich. Wir wurden kostenfrei mit einem Jeep zum Camp gebracht und zurück gefahren. Andere Camps verlangen hierfür Transportkosten ! Die Unterkunft organisiert auch Ausritte auf dem Pferd durch die Sahara. Ein ganz tolles Erlebnis und eine wunderbare Alternative zu den unzähligen Kameltouren die angeboten werden. Die gebuchte Buggytour mussten wir kurzfristig absagen, da unser Sohn am Morgen Migräne bekommen hatte. Wir haben unser Geld zurückbekommen und durften etwas später auschecken, bis es ihm besser ging.

Die Camps in der Nähe sind sehr laut, aber dafür können die Gastgeber natürlich nichts.
