Komatsuya

Guesthouse Komatsuya had the best vibes! The communal area was warm and welcoming with records and books to explore. We were a family of 4 and the family room for us was a perfect fit with 4 bunk beds. The toilet, sinks and shower are all shared. However, we had the entire place to ourselves and didn’t have to share! There’s small area on the main floor with a refrigerator, sinks, and microwave for easy meals. Overall, it served our needs very well.

The shower room had a hole in the wall that definitely needs to be fixed. The shower functioned just fine, but the hole seemed like it really needed work.

The location is excellent — it’s very convenient for checking in after exploring Asakusa. The owner speaks English, so communication is straightforward. He is also happy to provide recommendations, such as good nearby restaurants. As there didn't seem to be many other guests checking in that day, I was able to relax in the communal area after visiting the Tokyo Skytree. It was delightful to listen to a variety of vinyl records and read travel journals written by visitors from around the world. I hope to have the chance to stay here again on a future trip to Tokyo.
