About this house rental
Away from it all in the heart of Tuscany, Agriturismo Timignano is a beautiful farmhouse surrounded by stunning unspoilt countryside with spectacular views and magnificent sunsets.
It is a calm and relaxed place, an idyllic retreat away from the crowds.
The farm is a family-run property and is divided into 4 apartments (one of which is my home) each with independent entrance, fully equipped kitchen, barbecue and private outdoor space. The wi-fi is provided by a Starlink connection that covers each apartment, the outdoor sitting areas and the swimming pool.
This is a two-bedroom apartment with a charming roof terrace overlooking the valley. The well equipped kitchen/living area combines beautiful stone artefacts with modern furnishings. There is a wood-burning stove for cosy winter evenings and a modern, efficient ceiling fan for the hottest days, as well as table fans in both bedrooms. The main bedroom has one double bed and a smaller room has two single beds. There is one bathroom with shower, wc, bidet and basin Outside is a shaded pergola and eating area with barbecue.
The farmhouse is surrounded by olive trees and gardens full of flowers and fresh cooking herbs which you are welcome to pick.
The swimming pool, 20 mt from the house with great views across the valley, is shared with the other 2 apartments and is a quiet place to relax, unwind and read.
For this reason it is not suitable for children under 16 years or for those who enjoy water games, inflatables and loud music.
I live in part of the house with my wife, Sarah. We will be here to greet you on arrival and to help out with any questions and local tips.
Agriturismo Timignano is in the middle of the countryside, 10 minutes from the beautiful hill top town Casole d'Elsa and within 40 minutes of Tuscany's main artistic and cultural hotspots.
It is fairly remote and with no traffic it is very quiet which is why so many guests return year after year. If you prefer a more urban setting or don't enjoy driving on country roads then this might not be the place for you!
There is a 1.5km stone road leading to the house. It is suitable for all types of car but we advise you to drive slowly due to various drainage bumps along the route.
The swimming pool is not suitable for children under 13. No pool games, inflatables or loud music please.Swimming towels are not provided.
The nearest grocery store is 10 minutes away in Casole d'Elsa so we suggest you buy some provisions before arriving. There is a good local restaurant in the village, 5 minutes from the house.

Im September 2016 erlebten wir 2 Wochen in diesem wunderbaren, authentischen und liebevoll gestalteten Bauernhaus. Die Umgebung ist ruhig und man hat jede Menge Platz um sich einfach frei bewegen zu können.
Die Wohnung ist großzügig und mit allem ausgestattet. Wir hatten herrliches Wetter und konnten entweder auf der Terrasse oder auf dem Balkon essen oder am Abend einfach nur in die Sterne schauen und die Stille genießen. Von dem grandiosen Blick in das weite Tal konnten wir uns nicht satt sehen. Den Pool hatten wir nur für uns. Liegestuhlreservierung (Handtuch) fiel aus :-). Unsere Vermieter Sarah und Fabio waren immer aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Auch ihr Hund "Lola", zwar etwas scheu, aber sehr lieb und hat eigentlich nie gebellt. Uns hat es super gut gefallen. Wir haben uns herrlich erholt und sind sehr "geerdet" nach Hause gefahren. Für dieses schöne Ferienhaus nimmt man gerne die 1,5 km Schottenpiste in Kauf. Unser Geländewagen kam voll auf seine Kosten.

This was our first visit to Italy and won’t be our last!
Staying at Podere Timignano was a delightful experience from our initial enquiry through to saying our farewells, we had a great week!
Fabio & Sarah greeted us upon our arrival and after inviting us to inspect the accommodation which we were very happy with, kindly helped us to unload our luggage from the car during a rather heavy rainstorm.
We awoke to a beautiful morning and whilst taking in a cup of tea on the terrace could only admire the lovely location of their home within the stunning Tuscan countryside!
With such a beautiful place to stay we stayed ‘home’ a couple of days just relaxing with a book and glass of Fabio and Sarah’s excellent wine!
Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed the trampoline and dipping her toes in the pool!
We visited Casole d’Elsa, the nearest town to Monteguidi, it also has a great ice cream shop: Gelateria La Torre, Via Casolani, 68 53031 Casole d'Elsa
For a supermarket shop we visited the large COOP store at Poggibonsi: via Salceto, 137-143 Poggibonsi
We also visited the Abbey of St. Galgano between Chuisdino and Monticiano:

This amazing stone farmhouse couldn't have been more perfect for our Tuscan retreat. It gave us all the flavours of Tuscany and was very comfortable for our family (with 2 teenagers). Lots of little details to delight you - a stone column base built into the wall as a round window, bits of marble, terra cotta and more. The hosts Fabio and Sarah were lovely and supplied us with their own wine and garden vegetables. The unit is attached to their own home but is still very private as the access is separate and the views all in opposite directions. The pool is glorious with fabulous views across the hills. Location was perfect to make day trips to the beautiful Tuscan towns, wine regions and historic sites. We were able to visit Sienna, San Gimignano, Volterra, the Chianti region, the Abbey at San Galgano, a castle ruin and we spent an afternoon on horseback in the nearby Berignone forrest (including a bareback swim in the river)! Even the local town of Casole was peaceful and unspoilt - fun to wander and to visit the butcher and pick up groceries.
Wish we could come back every year! Thanks so much Fabio & Sarah for an unforgettable stay!
