About this chalet rental
Modern, spacious and sunny chalet located in a car-free surrounding with magnificent view over the Ubaye valley. The chalet can host up to 8 guests. It is situated at an altitude of 1,400 meters (4,500 feet). The house has a very large living room with magnificent bay windows overlooking the valley, a kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms. Plus a balcony, a large terrace and lawn, all south facing.
We do not live in Barcelonnette and use this chalet mainly for our holidays. Therefore we won't often be present upon arrival and during the stay of our guests. Nevertheless, our guests can always contact us by phone, sms, or email.
Water & Energy
Electricity, water & heater will be activated upon your arrival (usually the day before your check-in date in winter)
In the winter, heat is included for a consumption of 150kWh /day (~25€/day). Beyond this point, it will be charged 0.2 euros per kWh, deducted from your security deposit or requested as an extra cost. To avoid this extra fee, please keep heaters to a minimum at night, in empty rooms or when going out.
In the winter. the chalet is located at a 5 mns drive over the Sauze ski runs. In the summer, many hikes start from the surrounding area and the place is a 5mns drive down to the Alpine and Provencal small town of Barcelonnette.
Barcelonnette is a traditional alpine village with an agrarian past. Now it lives mainly on tourism. The village has all amenities: supermarket, rental of ski equipment and a number of great restaurants. The small town of the Le Sauze
In the summer you can enjoy hiking, from simple walks with the kids to extensive mountain tours to the mountains around.
In the valley are dozens of kilometers of cross-country trails, and the same valley is pleasant in summer for cycling without much climbing. And of course there are many nice heavier bike roads.
Near Barcelonnette is the highest pass in Europe in the Alps, the pass of La Bonnette.
The whole chalet and outside area which delimits the property for the exclusive use of our tenants.
The main transit hubs close to Barcelonnette are either Marseille (if you come by plane) or Aix-en-Provence (if you come by train from Paris/North). Bus ride from Aix to Marseille is about 2 hours. The chalet is more easily accessible by car, so it is recommended to rent a car.
The chalet is in a cul-de-sac and there is always plenty of parking space in front of the house.
Linen and Towels
We do NOT provide linens (sheets and towels) - please refer to our guidebook for the size of the beds.
Pillows, blankets, comforters and mattress covers are provided.
You can rent linens at the local town of Barcelonnette.

Chalet très bien situé et bien équipé.
Le chalet était sale à notre arrivée car la femme de ménage avait eu un contretemps. Mais cela a été corrigé très rapidement. Le propriétaire a su réagir vite et prendre en compte en outre le désagrément que nous avions subi le premier jour.

L'atmosphère est belle, la maison est très confortable, grande, chaleureuse et complète. Nous avons payé une très bonne semaine, tout s’est bien passé, nous n’avons eu aucun problème avec la maison ou ses propriétaires, la communication était très bonne, nous sommes heureux, vivement recommandé.

Très belle location bien aménagée et avec une belle vue dans la vallée de l’Ubaye.
L’arrêt de la navette est au pied du chalet et elle nous dépose au pieds des pistes du Sauze.
Pas besoin de prendre le véhicule pour se rendre en station.
C'est toujours un plaisir de revenir dans ce chalet.
