About this cottage rental

Cliff Cottage is located in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside at Welton Cliff, a 10 minute drive into the historic city of Lincoln. 2 miles from the village of Welton with lots of amenities including a pub, tea rooms and small supermarket.

Cliff Cottage has 5 bedrooms and can sleep up to 10 people. 2 bedrooms are en suite and there are a further 2 bathrooms serving the remaining bedrooms. There is a large kitchen / diner with a cosy sitting room next door and a second sitting room which is a newly completed extension with a large window providing great views of the countryside.

Cliff Cottage is finished to a high standard and has eco-friendly heating provided by a biomass boiler. The cottage provides the perfect setting for a family holiday in picturesque surroundings. There is a large garden perfect for sitting out in and admiring the views, of which the floodlit cathedral can be seen on a clear night.

The cottage has wi-fi, 2 flat screen TV's and ample parking space.

We had a great stay, accommodation was very good. Everything v clean and well organised. The house is lovely and plenty of room for 8 adults. A couple of minor suggestions: a potato masher in kitchen would be useful, also maybe consider another fridge in utility room. Finally downstairs bedroom was v cold, perhaps radiator not fully functioning? All other rooms were lovely and warm. Thank you for a great stay, would def recommend

Perfect location for visiting Lincoln. Fabulous house described as family friendly cottage and that's exactly what it was. Had everything we needed for a long weekend with all the facilities. Lovely and clean and well looked after.

Checkin couldn't have been easier - simply collected the keys from the lock box.Kitchen was amazing, I've never stayed anywhere with such a huge supply of crockery, pot, pans & glasses. Everything we needed was there, right down to washing up liquid, bin bags, and washing machine detergent. Absolutely superb.Only a couple of small criticisms, firstly the downstairs toilet door only locks from the outside! There were 3 kids under 10 in our party so privacy was a real issue. Secondly, the apple tree in the garden was absolutely crawling with wasps and if we opened the sliding glass door they were straight into the house. We told the landscape gardener about it and he already knew there was a problem. He promised to deal with it but it made no difference, so the kids couldn't play in the garden which was a real shame.

Good experience from check in to check out, good communication and accurate information.The cottage is close to Lincoln and well furnished and equipped. Lovely views over neighbouring fields and we particularly enjoyed watching a combine at work on the first day.

Lovely property surrounded by arable farm land. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and 2 spacious lounges. Shower gel/ shampoo, hand soap etc all provided and milk, cheese and biscuits waiting on arrival. WiFi was good in of the bedrooms but fairly weak signal elsewhere. Host was responsive. Lincoln centre only.15 minutes drive away. A great place to stay. Would recommend.

We are a group of 5 couples in our early sixties. We go away 2 or 3 times a year in the uk and abroad. We look for places with character, space, quieter locations ( so we don’t annoy anyone ) that are well equipped and near places of interest. This place exceeded expectations- beautiful location, lovely up to date accommodation, great beds, linen, towels, well equipped and very clean. Its proximity to Lincoln and local attractions was first class. The hosts were very quick to respond to us as we needed. Would return again for sureMark and our gang

Lovely, spacious house in the quiet countryside, near a quaint small town with restaurants and grocery shopping. Just a short drive from Lincoln. Our group consisted of 3 adults and 2 young children. The kids loved playing in the back yard, and we made day trips to the aquarium and a carnival. Kate was very communicative and the house was clean and well-appointed. We all enjoyed our stay, and being out in the quiet countryside I don't think I've ever slept so well!

Lovely spacious property in an excellent location to explore Lincoln. The property is kitted out with all essential equipment and it was a nice touch from Kate the host to leave a few little treats on arrival alongside tea, coffee, milk etc. We were a group made up of 2 families and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only a few miles from the lovely village of Welton that had all amenities required. We had an issue with the heating but Kate provided us with some electric heaters and got a plumber in as soon as she possibly could to fix the issue.Would highly recommend.

It was a very nice property in its own grounds. Big enough to cater for eight of us without any pressure, and very well situated for ease of access to Lincoln. Probably a very good place to stay in the summer but our circumstances meant that we had to stay in December so missed out on the good weather. But there was enough to do indoors to keep everyone entertained.

We had a brilliant stay at this house in Welton over New Year playing games and eating too much! It's a really beautifully kept house, lots of room for our group of 10 and a lovely, well appointed kitchen. The hosts have a great guide to the house and how to use all the appliances and they're easily contactable if there are any issues. We absolutely wouldn't hesitate to book this property again. Thoroughly recommend!

A great property for a stay with a group of friends or family. Lincoln, with all its amenities is a short drive away. The house is set on an arable farm and we saw lots of Hares and Rabbits! The property is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate 10 people and I can happily recommend it to others.

This cottage is perfect for a family getaway. It is a close drive to Lincoln town centre. The welcome pack from the owner Kate was thoughtful and added an extra homely feel. We really enjoyed our stay.

This is a lovely house which suited our needs - two families with five children age 6 and under. The big dining table was really useful, as was having two baths. I didn't realise it wasn't walking distance from the village so you really need a car to get anywhere. It's a quick drive into Lincoln (we had to go in every day for a week and ideally would've stayed in town but couldn't find anywhere) and great for exploring the surrounding area. I enjoyed the peace and quiet!

Whilst we enjoyed our stay and the property was nicely decorated for Christmas we wouldn’t choose to stay here again. There are no facilities for small children at all and bar the main bedroom the other 4 double bedded rooms are too small to fit a travel cot. There is plenty of equipment in the kitchen but only a single oven, bit of a challenge cooking for 10! There isn’t really seating for 10 in the lounge either. Minimal information and the property is in need of a good clean and bit of minor maintenance. Having said all that, a quiet location with easy access to Lincoln.

Amazing time away at this beautiful cottage. Communication with Kate was brill and very efficient. Beautiful welcome basket and the flapjacks were the best, well so he children said! (the children ate them all!) The cottage itself was huge for all us family of 11 to stay. We celebrated a 10th, 33rd, and 60th birthday. Good size 5 bedrooms and bonus a shower in each bathroom, two being on suites! The kitchen and table was a big size with excellent storage for all the food/drinks! The gardens and surroundings were beautiful and could spot the red arrows on the Sunday which was lovely too. We had so much fun in the lovely garden in the beautiful sunshine. There was so many flys around due to the cornfields which were a pain and we filled a swimming pool up, an outside tap would of been brill but these did not disappoint in the cottage. We have already tried to rebook and hopefully be able to return soon. Fab cottage and the black bull in the town did amazing Sunday lunches. Thank you x

We had a lovely family long weekend. The cottage was spacious and well maintained. Loved the views. Very clean and welcoming. The welcome hamper was such a nice touch. The children could make as much noise as they wanted because we didn’t have close neighbours. Wonderful location and we loved Lincoln. Nice little specialist shops and a beautiful cathedral and so easy to get to. Shop assistants were so friendly and helpful. Would love to go back

We had a relaxing stay in this spacious house , which was ample for five adults who wanted almost seclusion . The only thing that did not make it excellent was the position as it had farm traffic and some light pollution from the security light opposite . The home itself was comfortable and homely and allowed space in and out to kick back . The big bonus was three displays by the red arrows over three days , because they are based half a mile away .

Whilst the house is isolated and stands surrounded by fields, it's a short drive away to the local village. There's a friendly pub in the village as well as a Co-Op (handy for those last minute items). The house is well equipped and very clean. Communication with the host was easy and replies were prompt. I would wholeheartedly recommend this house.

We have e mailed the owner twice since returning home and tried on at least two occasions to phone whilst at the property, but to no avail . All West facing windows were a problem. The weekend was windy, the noise of the wind whistling through the window frames,and,or badly fitting windows was terrible, and did cause problems for the children in our party who had great trouble getting some sleep.( In fact the adults were also complaining). The staircase is very difficult due to the lack of handrails, in fact our two year old fell down the stairs, (at the point of the bend). Thank goodness she was not hurt. In fact the staircase would benefit from child gates being fitted at the top and the bottom, along with the appropriate handrails. The cottage is in all other ways ideal. In fact if it wasn't so windy the cottage would have been idyllic , however the noise really was horrendous. The cottage was warm and comfortable. We did have to use the spare under bed mattress, however we were surprised that there was no bedding for this. We did take along a couple of sleeping bags "just in case", thankfully. We hope these comments will be viewed as constructive criticism ,and will be acted upon by the owners.

We hired the cottage over the Christmas period - loads of room, massive kitchen, large table, 5 lovely bedrooms all nicely decorated- lots of space outside too- location was good- the nearest village was a short drive away and had everything we needed- Lincoln is also a 15 min drive away - communication between the owner and ourselves from enquiry through to booking and Information leading up to check in day was quick and efficient- will definitely stay again- all members of the family had a wonderful time
