The area was lovely, super chill and felt like being in a small village.

This is a very quiet and peaceful stay--surrounded almost exclusively by locals, set in a park setting. We were mostly glad for some quiet, it was just rather inconvenient. The AC worked well, but it is located in the living room and there is a separate bedroom, so you need to keep the bedroom door open to maintain cooling in the bedroom (no privacy). The beds and sheets were very comfortable.

The location is extremely far from the parts of the city that most people want to see. The water taxi ride in to the areas of interest was 30 minutes minimum. (And Venetian water taxis are hot, loud, crowded and otherwise unpleasant.) There seems to be some confusion in Italy about how listings are put on this site--they will say "two beds" but they don't provide linens for two beds unless you contact the host separately from the booking process and request it. And here we were informed that it would have also cost us more to use the two beds. So there is some assumption that Italians have that US travelers do not have, and vice versa (US travelers assume that if a room says "there are two beds" that means you are ab le to actually USE both beds upon arrival.) To this host's credit, he did have the second bed already made up with linens, and did not charge us the unexpected extra amount for using the second bed. The floor here was very dirty and dusty and we were grossed out walking around barefooted in the apartment. The hot water was very sporadic and short lived.
