Walberswick, a good place to stay

We liked the location.The view from Statue, the front bedroom window was good.The room is a good size.Good selection of cutlery.We are happy the antlers have now been removed from the doors.

The bed was uncomfortable.Perhaps a new mattress would be advisable.Larger cups and glasses would be better.Larger bath towels are recommended.

Lovely stay on Suffolk coast.

Spacious, microwave and toaster as well as kettle. Nicely equipped with plates etc. Washing up easy despite no dedicated sink. Loved it!

Would have liked a broom and dustpan and brush to keep the crumbs at bay. We think the boiler needs servicing or replacing urgently as it was making some pretty scary noises. Also a plumber for the toilet as it doesn't shut off completely after flushing and is wasting a lot of water, as well as constant noisy dripping. Would have liked a one ring electric hob to do simple meals.

Great house for walkers

Lovely house full of atmosphere. Beautiful sound of owls calling. Clean. Comfortable. Very friendly. Perfect for walking.

Quiet location, easy to find and plenty of guest parking; dogs allowed. My child has additional needs and loved the big TV; room larger than anticipated, with two chairs and small coffee table in addition to twin beds.

Having to run the bathroom sink tap in order to get hot water in the shower; no sink in kitchenette and food prep area could have been a tad bigger (although pleasantly surprised by the small separate kitchen/dining room). Stairs very steep and creaky; not sure how a larger dog would manage, ours is small enough to carry.

Absolutely amazing. Having stayed previously in a smaller room this larger one is better. The fenced garden is great for dog owners.

Spacious and dog friendly

Location is great, 3 minutes to Walberswick with parking. Lots of space and dog friendly. It's pretty simply furnished but good for a night or two. Having tea coffee and a biscuit in the kitchen was very nice.

There was a pump or something in the room next door that made a racket, but not once.our neighbours had gone to bed.

Perfect location for nearby festival with parking. Spacious room with extremely useful kitchen style facilities (a fridge was fantastic)and really generous food items, thank you! Good to have sitting chairs and dining chairs and a table. Great shower in spacious shower room. Extremely good value.

The bed was slightly uncomfortable and there was some noise from a child running around the room upstairs. Neither of these would put me off returning!

Everything clean, good location with parking. Decent shower and kitchen was useful, nice carpeted sitting area with sofa, was basic but clean and comfortable. Suited us well. Could walk out of gate and back onto the common, pleasant walk to either town. Really liked it and would stay there again. Cheers.

easy to find the lodge directions were spot on ,had complimentary breakfast , mainly milk, bread , jams , tea and coffee as well ,comfy bed , big bathroom , tv

Great for the price

I liked the cost. The shower once I figured it out was strong and a good temperature. The garden is securely enclosed so that my dog (I had ground floor rooms) could roam safely. I could park my bike safely behind the house. I was very quiet.

The distance to Walberswick was very doable by bike but I realised once I was there that it was still a bit too far to do in the rain and part of it is dangerous as cars speed past (so not good in the evening). A small cockroach scuttled along the floor. I was startled by a fellow guest who stayed in the triangular hut; I had taken this hut for a shed (there is no sign on it to say otherwise) and found myself staring straight at her; we were both very embarrassed.

You get what you pay for - fairly cheap for the area, but........

Towels very 'tired' and one stained. Bed linen also tired, especially second pillowcases not matching. Mattress not great. Disturbed twice during the night by noise, which sounded like a washing machine - went on for some time.

Extremely disappointing — the property was so unclean and poorly maintained that we couldn’t stay and had to find altern

Unfortunately, there was nothing we liked about the property. It was in such poor condition that we couldn’t even stay the night. The photos and description were extremely misleading, and upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the place was not clean, safe, or habitable. We ended up leaving and finding alternative accommodation because staying there simply wasn’t an option.

The property was in an unacceptable condition, and we were unable to stay the night. We had to find alternative accommodation over an hour away, which was both stressful and inconvenient. The house had a strong smell of damp throughout, and all the surfaces, including the kitchen sides, felt sticky and unclean. There were visible brown marks across various parts of the house, particularly on the oven and inside the fridge, which was especially off-putting. Overall, the place felt unkept and unhygienic, far from what was advertised. We were extremely disappointed and had no choice but to leave.

Great location for nearby festival

We loved how spacious the studio was, huge modern bathroom, very cute kitchenette with all utensils you need for morning coffee and snack, host left little jams and jug of milk and fresh orange juice in the fridge which was very nice. Road not too busy so we had good sleep

A fabulous place, would come again!

This is a wonderful place to stay. A stone’s throw away from southwold and Aldeburgh. It is spacious and very well appointed (I’d happily live there!). It is simply furnished but you want for nothing. Plenty of hot water for showers, a good size kitchen, a nice lounge and comfy beds.

The Wi-Fi was intermittent but it wasn’t the end of the world.

We were very comfortable, and would happily stay again.

We stayed on the Ground floor, so benefitted from two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and bathroom - each had a rustic charm and was clean, tidy and had a homely feel. The kitchen is well stocked, with all the utensils and pots and pans you could want.

The facilities are a little basic - but at this price it would be churlish to expect much more. The shower was a little too small, and the water seemed to come and go in waves while showering. It took me a llittle while to work out how to use the telly too - but I think a previous occupant had left it in an odd setting, and the cable had come out of the back. Once sorted it worked fine - it's just in an odd place, completely perpendicular to the sofa. But like I say, small things in the overall scheme of things

The cupboard on the living room had a water pump for the building which was very loud when other guests were using water. Wooden staircase also loud from other guests, both of which made it difficult with a 4 month old baby

Another lovely short break at The Lodge.

We've stayed here quite a few times. It suits us as we bring our dog. It's clean, comfortable, and has everything we need for a short stay. It's a lovely rural location on the outskirts of Walberswick, which can easily be walked to across heathland.

It would be really nice to have slightly bigger and better towels (the hand towels are fine) but the larger ones are still pretty small.

Disappointing.

Location near a venue in Walberswick.

No sink in the kitchen area. Had to wash dishes in a bowl in bathroom sink. Cutlery drawer front falling off. Impossible to regulate temperature of shower. Water was either scalding hot or freezing cold. Very steep stairs to first floor, would not suit people with mobility issues.

Totally underwhelming

Location only

Claimed came with a kitchenette. No sink and only a microwave - no cooker! Also claimed came with breakfast 1 pack of muffins and a pot of cornflakes with two pots of instant porridge. Although we were booked for 3 days this was not replaced when used .
