Our host kept in communication with us as we traveled to the villa in case we got lost. She met us at the gates and we were very pleased with the beauty and quietness of the place. The villa was very well-appointed with comfortable furniture and beds. The kitchen had everything a vacationing family might need, especially the washing machine. The grounds of the villa were beautiful with several nice outdoor places to sit and watch the sun go down or rise! Our hosts were very respectful of our privacy but were there in a flash if we needed help. We loved it and would definitely return.

Our group of six adults was enchanted with our stay in this beautiful villa in the Tuscan countryside. We wanted to be in a peaceful setting with beautiful views, and this place exceeded our expectations, even down to the winding roads to reach the house. The gated entrance, driveway and parking area required a bit of a learning curve in our Passat wagon, but it was a minor inconvenience when considering the setting and view from villa with its lovely gardens. The apartments were beautiful and unique; we felt ourselves in another era and lifestyle. It was impeccably clean. We had everything we needed. The owners/hosts Ludovica and Christian were warm, welcoming and friendly. Upon request, we received a tour of the whole house along with an amazing history lesson and a little background about olive oil farming and production. It was easy to reach numerous small towns; Certaldo, a fun 15 minute drive, is a wonderful place to visit (amazing market on Wednesdays), especially the old town reached by a funicular. San Gimignano was only 30 minutes. Certaldo has a train station from which you can easily reach any number of cities. Plenty of vineyards for wine tasting within a 15 minute drive, and also restaurants. Our only regret was we were only there for three nights.

Luxurious accommodations in a historic mansion. Both guest quarters were completely remodeled a few years ago with modern fixtures, WiFi, TV's, AC/Heat thermostats in every room. 1&1/2 bathrooms per 2 bedroom suite with spacious living rooms. Microwave, washers, coffee pot available. Complete sets of dishes and cutlery in each suit. Comfortable beds and roomy modern showers. MUCH more than a B&B. Each apartment is comfortable, spacious and has a connecting door between them. The delightful hosts live below the guest quarters and are eager to show you the well maintained and furnished decor of historic Italian Villa Humbourg that is their home. Our hosts helped book tours, served breakfast and recommending dining options. As world travelers they were knowledgeable, multi lingual, helpful and friendly. A nice family run restaurant is 400 meters away with a fabulous restaurant about 2 miles down the road you'll want to dine at every chance you get. Absolutely stunning property we will never forget and hope to return some day.
