About this house rental

Situated on 20 private acres overlooking the Yellowstone River and Paradise Valley, this custom log home is the perfect Yellowstone National Park basecamp for couples and families alike. The A-frame design makes the living area spacious with high ceilings and large windows giving a bird's eye view of the Yellowstone River and southern Paradise Valley. The northern facing wrap around deck is a perfect place to grill, lounge, soak up the sun, and watch the sunlight fade over the river.

Anyone familiar with Paradise Valley will recognize that this property is in Tom Miner Basin, one of the most popular areas in the valley. Tom Miner Basin is home to herds of wildlife as they migrate in and out of Yellowstone National Park. Elk, deer, big horn sheep and antelope call Tom Miner home much of the year. From late fall to spring a herd of big horn sheep can be found sunning themselves in the driveway and the nearby grass land. Hummingbirds love the area as well, as the former owners faithfully filled their feeders, to watch them from the windows.

The upstairs hosts two main bedrooms, each with their own private full bathrooms and in-room spacious vanities. One room has one king and two XL twins. All three are brand new and selected for comfort. The XL twins can convert to a second king, should guests prefer. The other room has a new king bed and two regular twins.

The downstairs hosts two smaller bedrooms, each with a queen bed. Both bedrooms have in-room vanities and they share a full bathroom in the east wing with a door for complete privacy from the rest of the house.

The open concept kitchen is well stocked with basic spices and ample amounts of cookware, dinnerware and glassware. The kitchen island is a good place for breakfast or dinner prep. The dining room table seats 8 comfortably with views of the Yellowstone River, Paradise Valley, and lower Tom Miner Basin. The living room has a flat screen TV with comfy chairs and a couch. We also have a toy bin for kids, books, movies, and an electric piano.

If you need a spacious basecamp for your southwest vacation to Montana with Yellowstone National Park entrance 20 miles away, and the geographical border a few minutes up the gravel road from the house, this is the place for you.

**Please note our nightly base rate is for 8 guests. There is an additional charge of $25/person/night for groups of 9 to 12 guests. Infants (0-2 years old) are welcome without additional charge.**

We enjoyed our stay here!! My family, my brother’s and our parents all stayed together and had plenty of room. The location is perfect and the views are stunning. There is something magical about the area and we didn’t want to leave it behind. Having a town with gas and groceries so close was perfect, but it still was off the beaten path which is exactly what we were looking for. Quiet nights on the front porch became an excellent way to recap the long days in Yellowstone. I would definitely recommend this house.

We tried to create a dream experience for our grandkids at Yellowstone and the Tetons and the parks did not disappoint. This log home however EXCEEDED our expectations. My biggest fear was that the pictures presented something different than what we would encounter. NOT THE CASE ! This place is spectacular. Hidden amongst the hills and rocks with beautiful spruce trees and even cactus ! Room to explore for the kiddos and peaceful for us olde folk. We had 4 adults and 4 kids under 11yers. plenty of room and beds to spare. I feel blessed we came across this place. It truly made all the difference in our National Park experience.

Serenity and views to relax after full park days was excellent. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 8 kids to have space, to roam nearby safely, relax on the big beautiful deck with great views. We encountered some unforeseeable problems but the hosts were very responsive and worked diligently to make it right. Relaxing stay. My only suggestion is I think a restock of forks would be helpful if your advertising for 12 people. We had some using toddler forks which we thought was hilarious but other guests may not be so easily entertained. Thank you for the kindness and responsiveness from hosts.

Our stay at Vern and Laurie’s home was awesome! The home is remote (exactly what we were looking for), with the closest grocery store about 25 minutes away. The views from the deck were absolutely spectacular, especially at night. Vern and Laurie were so welcoming. We went to the river by their home and ended up chatting with them for a bit. We were asking about places to see more animals, and Vern even offered to take us around if time permitted. They could not have been nicer. Tanya, Vern and Laurie’s daughter, manages the listing, and she was so friendly and communicative. When we head to Yellowstone again, we will definitely stay at their home!
