Experience the beauty of Montana from our handcrafted log lodge located on the banks of the Yellowstone River, just 10 miles north of Gardiner—the historic original entrance to Yellowstone National Park.
This spacious 4,300-square-foot lodge offers the perfect combination of comfort, character, and convenience for families, groups, and outdoor enthusiasts. The home features:

Ideal Yellowstone Location
Yellowstone National Park is only 10 minutes away, making the lodge an excellent base for exploring the Park and the scenic Upper Yellowstone Valley. Popular activities in the area include:

Guests frequently see elk, bison, and Yellowstone's famous wolves.

For added comfort during colder months, we recently installed a new propane furnace.
Built by Hand
Our lodge was truly built from the ground up by our family. The hand-hewn logs were cut in the nearby mountains and hauled out by our team of Clydesdale horses. The stones used in the fireplaces were gathered from local fields, creating a unique Montana lodge experience that reflects the area's history and craftsmanship.
Hunting Season Accommodations
The lodge is also available during hunting season. Nearby trailheads provide access to excellent elk hunting opportunities on the surrounding National Forest lands.
Cancellation Policy
While we maintain a no-refund cancellation policy, we always try to work with our guests whenever possible.
Refunds may be available if cancellations occur far enough in advance for us to rebook the reserved dates.
Summer reservations can often be rebooked unless cancellation occurs within one to two weeks of arrival.
Full refunds will be issued if Yellowstone National Park is closed during your reservation dates.
We strongly recommend purchasing trip insurance to protect against unexpected events, including natural disasters.
We are often able to transfer deposits to a future stay within one year of the original reservation date.

We could not have asked for a better place to stay on our family vacation. There were 20 of us ranging in age from 1-62 and everyone had a great time. The house had everything we needed to prepare meals and was very clean and comfortable. We all loved the outdoor space and there was plenty of room for the kids to play in the yard. The house is close to the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. We saw elk from our porch every day and once they even came to graze in the yard. A highlight was when a moose came by on the mountain behind the house while we were outside eating dinner. She crossed the river right by the house. Being from Florida, that is not something we are used to seeing. We talked to Dru and John several times during our stay and they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I feel like she is a new friend. We will definitely stay in this lodge again when we are out for another trip!

The cabin was very clean and comfortable. DruAnn was very personable and shared a lot of information. The cabin accomodations were exactly as described and we enjoyed our family of 14 celebrating our 60th anniversary. If we were to travel there again, we would definitely stay there. With the river flowing behind us and listening to the water was a wonderful sound. My recommendation? By all means stay with DruAnn and the cabin.

There are two lodges on this property. We had booked the one pictured above, but due to scheduling issues of our host, we were asked to switch to the smaller lodge. So I am not reviewing the lodge in the picture but the smaller one on the same property. The property is ideally located. The views are amazing and the Yellowstone River flows next to the large deck of the lodge. We were about 20 mins from the Roosevelt Arch, the northern entrance to Yellowstone, so it was ideal. The lodge was a good size for a large group. The kitchen was well equipped and it was nice to have the deck, grill, and 2 picnic tables for outdoor meals. This however was not the beautiful upscale lodge that it appeared to be in this photo. Since I never had a chance to see the interior of the original lodge, I am assuming that they accurately reflect the larger lodge. I was disappointed in the esthetic of our lodge. Also, we stayed there on the shoulder season and the heating system could not adequately heat the large basement bedroom area. I am sure in the heat of summer, the cool basement area would be a plus. But with nighttime temps of 32 degrees, it was not comfortable. Turning the heat up until upstairs guests had to open windows did not solve the problem. So we had a great vacation, Yellowstone was beautiful but i had wanted to really WOW my family with this lodge.
