About this cottage rental

Groam cottage is an 18th century cottage recently renovated to modern standards. The cottage is located in the heart of Rosemarkie village and only a few minutes walk from the beach. A local grocery store, gift shops and Plough Inn are just around the corner. For golf enthusiasts the cottage is located about 5 minutes drive or 20 minutes walk from the historic Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf course. Many other outdoor pursuits are available locally; Dolphin spotting, sailing, fishing, shooting and hill walking to name a few.
Groam cottage with wood burning stove, underfloor heating and on demand hot water offers a cosy base from where you can explore the wider highlands.

The cottage is located just off Rosemarkie High Street in a private gated plot with parking for one car. Additional parking is available immediately next to the property if required. The house comes with broadband unlimited free wifi.

Note that the cottage is not suitable for guests with mobility issues. The stairs are quite steep and bathroom is located on ground floor.

The cottage is lovely, clean, and tidy. It's got a handy drive-in with a gate. The kitchen is well equipped, the shower room is very good and the bedrooms are very comfortable. The beach is a 5 minute walk, with a great cafe 'Crofters' providing excellent food. Opposite the cottage is a small grocery store with further stores in the nearby villages

What a wonderful place to spend our vacation! Rob was extremely helpful and I can’t say enough about what a great host he was/is. This location is perfect and is right in the middle of everything. You can walk to the beach, restaurants & pubs. It’s a beautiful cottage and I highly recommend it. Thank you Rob for sharing your home, we were so grateful to you and if we ever return we will definitely stay here again! Pros: Excellent host! The Owner was very accommodating, helpful and friendly. The Property had easy parking and was ideally situated for both the beach, walks and shops, as well as being walking distance from Chanonry Point and the chance of seeing the Dolphins - which we did! What an amazing place! Couldn’t fault it at all, and couldn’t have gotten a better location. Rob is a superb host. Plough Inn is great for a wee drink with the locals and the Crofters Bistro is great for a meal. Thanks Rob and hope to be back very soon.

Groam Cottage is a lovely cosy, warm cottage minutes from the beach in a quiet village. The cottage is within walking or cycling distance of Chanonry Point where dolphins can be watched at close quarters. A bonus as you can visit multiple times without any hassle, as they don't quite show every day. Beautiful walks to the Fairy Glen waterfalls and to caves along the beach from the door as well. Great cafe/ restaurants in Rosemarkie. The cottage was very clean and had great communication with Rob.

A lovely stay helped by glorious weather. Saw the dolphins, some went in the sea and we tried to find the caves. Only negatives were steep stairs in cottage and loud seagulls, neither of which can be helped I would imagine. Otherwise perfect for all three generations of our family.

Had a lovely stay in Groam Cottage despite a couple of wet days. Cromarty, Groam House Museum and the Church in Nigg village are all 'must sees'. But, for us at least, seeing the dolphins at Chanonry Point only metres from the shore was a unique experience and definitely one of the highlights!! About an hour after low tide seems to be the best time.

This is a beautiful cottage, set in a lovely little village. An ideal place to get away from it all. Everything you could possible need is provided, it's a real home from home. The photographs don't do it justice. The lounge is lovely and cosy, we stayed in October and although we were fortunate to have lovely sunny days the evenings we're cold and we could light the log burner and spend cosy nights in. Communication with Rob is easy and he ensured we had everything we could possibly need. I would highly recommend this place if you want to stay somewhere quiet on the black isle.

The cottage is newly refurbished, comfy beds, and the kitchen is especially smart. Right next to the Groam House museum, and just a few yards away from the village shop. Has its own parking which is a big advantage in the village centre. Would suit most family or adult groups, but note the spiral staircase could be tricky for someone with restricted mobility.

The property is perfectly hidden but only minutes from the beach. Rosemarkie is a quaint, peaceful little village with a local pub and Spar. The walk to the fairy glen waterfalls is idyllic and well worth the time. The walk to Fossil beach is tiring on the way back up but also well worth the effort. The property is cozy and well stocked, had everything we required for a week’s holiday, Rob was an extremely attentive host and was on hand anytime day or night. All the beds are very comfortable. Check in and out was extremely easy with a key pad store for the door key. What an amazing place to stay, we dropped lucky with fabulous weather but I don’t even think rain could have spoiled anything. 😍

We thoroughly enjoyed being in the cottage, the minute we walked through the door.The kitchen in particular is very attractively done, a big kitchen dining room beautifully fitted out.Ws used this the most. The garden was very pleasant to sit out in and very private.We were glad that the house was set well back from the main street, with its own gravel courtyard driveway as it did provide extra privacy.That's also the reason I could never quite bring the property up on Google street maps! Much more private than photos perhaps suggest. The whole area is really attractive with a good long beach 5 minutes walk away.Recommend IV10 bistro/cafe in Fortrose for nice home made cakes.

The cottage is a perfect spot for relaxing and exploring the countryside by car. We found it clean, comfortable and well appointed for our family. Rob is a responsive host and was very helpful with any questions. We were able to extend our stay on short notice without any difficulty. While Rosemarkie is a small village, there are many amenities available in Fortrose which is a short walk down the road (or along the beach). Check out Crofters cafe in Rosemarkie and Anderson's in Fortrose for some of the best food on the Black Isle. We definitely recommend staying here!
