About this house rental
Dalendrien is a single storey house, sleeping 6, stunningly positioned on its own peninsula on the shoreline of Loch Linnhe. a long sea inlet running from the Isle of Mull inland to the slopes of Ben Nevis, and sits on the quiet north shore of the loch just off the scenic road which runs from Fort William to the remote Ardnamurchan Peninsula. It nestles in three acres of grounds with shoreline and slipway, some 25 miles from Fort William and 8 miles north of the Corran Ferry at Ardgour. The house has deceptively spacious rooms which have magnificent views looking over the loch to the mountains of Glen Coe and Ben Nevis itself. The house is comfortably furnished with loch and mountain views from most rooms. The accommodation consists of 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom with wash basin, (a cot and extra folding bed for a child are available), spacious living/dining room with open fire, conservatory, and a large kitchen that is very well equipped.
Around the house there is an abundance of wildlife and walks up the glen behind, fishing off our shoreline and some have even braved swimming in the loch, but a wet suit is essential.

We stayed at Dalendrien to celebrate a 50th birthday, and wow – what an incredible place! From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed. The champagne and birthday card were such thoughtful touches and set the tone for a truly special stay. The house itself is amazing – beautifully kept with fantastic attention to detail, and those views! Every window offered a stunning panorama, making wildlife watching an absolute joy. We were treated to nightly visits from a pine marten, three majestic stags in the garden, numerous deer, and even a barn owl flying overhead. We also spotted an otter in the loch and were lucky enough to see a white-tailed eagle soaring above it – unforgettable! It was the perfect break in every way. Peaceful, scenic, and full of wildlife – we didn’t want to leave. A huge thank you to Nicki for making our stay so memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

Superb!!! Marvelous house with an unbelievable insane beautiful view from the great and big windows looking at the loch, sky, mountains and the big garden next to the beach of the loch! Fantastic beds and good equipment in the kitchen, 2 ovens and magnetron & easy cooking on induction. One big bathroom with shower & WC and one shower & WC. Enormous bath towels very comfortable & some small.Comfortable sitting room and a nice conservatory in front of the house. And every day the sheep visited and in evening time the deer!!It’s worth to drive the single track road of approx. 8 miles (from the ferry to the house). Lots to see & discover a couple of walking trails. We were sorry to leave!!

We had the absolute privilege of staying at Dalendrien, and it’s safe to say it was an experience we’ll cherish forever. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this property is not just a holiday home but a labour of love. Nestled in the heart of God’s land, Dalendrien offers a perfect sanctuary for anyone seeking peace, beauty, and a connection to nature that’s truly unparalleled.Every detail of the property has been carefully considered, from the immaculate cleanliness to the breathtaking views that greet you at every window. The warmth and care in the design and upkeep reflect a level of methodical attention that is simply remarkable. As a family, we found everything we could possibly need to make our stay comfortable, from the well-stocked kitchen to the cosy living spaces that made every evening feel like a dream. The surrounding area is nothing short of divine – a testament to the grandeur of nature and the wonder of Scotland’s wild beauty. Whether it was exploring the rugged landscapes or simply sitting back and soaking in the serene views, we felt deeply connected to the soul of this place. To Nicki: thank you for sharing this gem with us and for your unwavering dedication to creating a haven that is both welcoming and awe-inspiring. Your attention to detail is second to none, and it made all the difference in turning a lovely stay into an unforgettable one. We left with full hearts and a longing to return.

For my sixth time over the past ten years I planned a week of outdoor adventure travelling up from Leicestershire to Fort William.
This year, we decided on a change of accommodation from our usual chalet approach in nearby Blaich.
Dalendrien proofed a welcome change!
In particular we found the place to have a surprising amount of open space once settled in & winding down to relax.
The living room and kitchen diner is a cosy set up with wonderful views out to Loch Eil to the front and Ben Nevis and its mountain range to the side.
We felt as a group of two Brothers, a Father and Uncle - that we all had ample space to wind down, relax, find our own space, at the same time as enjoying a spacious communal area at the end of a long day's outdoor activity!
The hour is wonderfully kitted-out with all you might need to cook and make the place your own for the week.
From everything needed in a functioning kitchen, to a very interesting range of books and games, in some cases dating back a good few decades - which adds a certain character & feel of longevity to the place.
Bathrooms are particularly nicely done, modern, and bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable, with plenty of thoughtful touches and pleasant décor to complete.
Don't forget the cows!
The Highland Cows! haha
And plenty of bird life for the avid birdwatcher.
Annoyingly, vrbo have limited characters for my review :-/
So I guess, I must leave saying, "we had a great time, thank you!"

We have stayed at this property before and have come back for Hogmanay. We have had an amazing time. It is so peaceful and quiet and the wildlife is stupendous. The cottage is so warm and welcoming especially with the open fire. We love it and will be back.

By far the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. You felt you were at home. The views are spectacular. Peaceful and quiet. Lovely to see so much wildlife, including the stag that made his nightly appearance. Highly recommend this property. Nicki the owner is wonderful.

Well equipped property with fantastic views. We fished on the beach near the old jetty and managed to catch 9 pollock between us. The deer and sheep visited the garden and the peace and quiet was wonderful!
The weather was better than we were expecting and we had a great time exploring the wider area. Thank you!

We had a very lovely stay. The weather was a bit miserable but despite this we had a very comfortable time at the cottage. The view of the loch was wonderful. The wildlife - birds, deer, red squirrel and pine Martin were fabulous to watch. The house was the best stocked holiday cottage I’ve ever stayed in - very well equipped kitchen and great selection of games, books and films.

The house and setting are gorgeous, any time that we were sitting inside was spent in the sun room taking in the view of the shore and Loch Linnhe. The house was spotless and Nicky has provided everything you require for a comfortable stay, including written instructions, as required; she is an excellent communicator and caring hostess.
Unfortunately, we had abysmal weather (pouring rain) during our week which is not good when the majority of the local activities are outdoors.

Wow, what a stunning place! The location and views are unrivalled, the comfort and warmth of the house will have you never wanting to leave! The house has everything you could possibly need and the beds are unbelievably comfortable, the towels big and fluffy, the showers are hot and powerful. The setting is completely private and you will just stare at the loch and mountains all day. I would wake up super early just to see the view again and head down to the loch. Each night we were visited by Deer in the garden right outside the huge windows, the Pine Marten also visited at the same time each day. So much wildlife! It’s a true fairytale property.

Nicki provided us with all the information that you required to have a wonderful holiday. The property was homely, clean and had everything you required. It was set in the most amazing location so peaceful. You had Red deer and a red squirrel visiting and we watched an otter in the loch. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. Dalendrien is an absolutely fabulous place. The views from the property are stunning and totally relaxing just to sit and look at the Loch or Ben Nevis. We saw plenty of wildlife including lots of Finches on the bird feeders, we also saw Red Squirrel, Porpoises and seals in the Loch but the highlight was a Royal Stag that run through the garden (thanks Nicki on the info on how to tell what stag is what) I can't rate this property highly enough, I would give 10 stars if I could. Nicki is a first class host and was quick to answer any questions. We will definitely be back.

One of, if not the best rented properties we have stayed in. Accurate description, everything you could need and more. Terrific views of the Loch, Ben Nevis etc.
Plenty of room for everyone. All needs were catered for.
The wildlife did not disappoint. Only the Golden Eagle didn’t show, but hey, that’s wildlife.

We stayed in Dalendrien with 4 adults and 2 small children (4 and 2 years old). The house itself is very well maintained, tidy, comfortable and very well equiped. The children loved to play on the rocky beach and with al the toys available on rainy days. The views from the living room, kitchen and bedooms are stunning and there is abundant wild life around the house. The rocky beach naar the house is perfect for a beach bbq or fire. Even chairs for comfy sitting on the beach are available. The pub (ardgour inn) at the Coran ferry a few Miles up the road, serves excellent food.We had a wonderful time and would love to come back.

Instant karma is the feeling you get when you first walk through the door of this amazing home. Yes, it is a home, comfortable, relaxing, peaceful and all of the conveniences anyone could ever need. My family and I could quite easily have spent the two weeks of our holiday there without setting foot out of the home and the land belonging to the property. There are however many great adventures in the nearby areas to take advantage of. Magnificent scenery, historical castles and monuments, wildlife in abundance, walks galore for both the unfit and those with bags of fitness energy. Did we manage to do all that we wanted to, no. So it looks like we shall have to return at some, hopefully sooner, later date.

Beautiful location with a great deal of thought behind giving a high quality to the stay
Despite it being a fair hike around the Loch to the house after Fort William it is fair to say that it is worth the extra 35 mins The silence hits you straight away and it is a great place to relax away the stresses of life. Stunning views down the Loch and across to Ben Nevis combined with the private beach make for a great location.
The house is very well stocked with a great kitchen and plenty of comfy chairs etc. As it is Scotland deploy the midge spray before you get out of the car as they can be a handful at times, however you almost get used to them after a while.
Plenty of things to do but consider Wild West tours and Seaxplorer rib rides out of Glencoe. Also Rockhopper do a fabulous couple of hours on the water in kayaks

Lovely Property in stunning location
Lovely Property in stunning location
We had a wonderful stay at Dalendrien. From our arrival we felt immediately at home - not necessarily easy when you are in someone else's house. The property was really well appointed, and everything we needed was here. Ironically, despite the fabulous space of the reception rooms, we spent most of our time there in the small sun room, looking out at the Loch and Ben Nevis.
The weather wasn't the best, but this is Scotland, not the Caribbean. it didn't stop us doing anything as there were plenty of lovely drives and local walks. Perfect also for wildlife spotting as there was plenty to see within a mile of the house. We even had a Red Deer Stag in the Garden on our first evening there. Also spotted nearby were the Golden Eagle in the Glen behind Dalendrien and Two Sea Eagles further down the Loch towards Ardgour. we regularly saw Porpoises Just off shore.
We found the local Inn at Ardgour good for pub grub, and further afield, the Crannog Restaurant in Fort William was excellent for Sea food.
All in all, an excellent stay at a place I would happily recommend to anyone.

Fantastic house in a great peaceful location
Fantastic house in a great peaceful location
House is in a great location and sit's right on the shore of Loch Linnhe, we took 2 sit on top kayak's with us and we had load's of fun kayaking on the loch. It has large spacious room's with great views. The view from the kitchen window of Ben Nevis is amazing (if you get sunny weather) to enjoy it. The house has lot's of book's and games which we used when the weather was not so good. The house is equipped with everything you need to make your holiday an enjoyable one. There is a car ferry only a short drive away to get you across the loch or you can choose to leave the car and get a little foot ferry to visit Fort William if you wish. We saw lot's of wildlife whilst we were there, my daughter and husband saw a seal in the loch and we were all extremely lucky to see some stag's and deer in the garden . There was no binoculars there when we arrived which I feel there should be, but a quick text to the owner and within a couple of day's she had ordered a pair and they arrived, this made watching the stag's a real treat. The property was not as clean as it should have been upon arrival and with time the house could be amazing. The owner sent us lot's of information before we arrived telling us about the local area and followed this up with a phone call a few day's before our holiday to ask if we had any further questions, which I thought was nice. The customer service from the owner was outstanding. The house was warm and cozy and we cannot wait to visit again next year but for 2 weeks this time and not 1.We would recommend this property to friends and family Thank you for letting us enjoy your home.
